Renji and Ichigo walked to school, both were caught up in their thoughts until Ichigo said a 'shit' out loud and smacked himself on his forehead with his hand.
"What is it?" Renji asked.
"I forgot it is Valentine's day." He replied.
"…" Renji just looked at him.
"I forgot to get a present." He explained.
"Rukia-chan says guys never buy presents."
"I promised her to buy one!"
"Well, just buy something after school."
"…"
They were quiet again and got to their class. On Ichigo's desk lay a bunch of heart shaped boxes, bonbon boxes. On Renji's lay non, not even a card.
Ichigo looked at them and figured out most of them; Rukia, Orihime, Tatsuki, and a bunch of other girls. Only one box, a black one with a white ribbon wrapped around it, was left. If he hadn't already had a box from Rukia he would have thought it was from her, but he already had one from her, so it was left a mystery. He stared at it. Renji saw him.
"Oi, maybe you got one of a guy, haha!" Renji joked.
"What?" Ichigo jumped.
"Just kidding."
"You know what bothers me?" Ichigo asked.
"What?"
"That it's in the colours of a shinigami, but I already got one from Rukia-chan."
"Well, you never know, maybe it's just a joke or something." Renji reached over to Ichigo's table and grabbed on of the boxes.
"Maybe, but isn't that weird?" Ichigo grabbed a chocolate out of the box Renji took.
"Don't take it so heavy, it's just some extra chocolate for you." Renji took some chocolates too.
"And it isn't from you, right? As a stupid joke?" Ichigo asked suspicious.
Renji just lifted his shoulders.
It was break and Ichigo, Rukia and Renji were on the roof. Ichigo had brought the black box with the white ribbon and was still looking at it.
"Rukia-chan, this box isn't from you, right?" he asked.
"Show it," she said, but shook her head, "no I wouldn't make it that obvious."
"You have an idea from who it could be?"
"No, not from the girls in our class, we all bought them together. Non of us bought one black and white." She answered.
"Well, maybe you were right. Maybe it was a guy."
Ichigo and Renji were on their way home. Ichigo found out that non of the girls had seen a girl lay the box on his table or buy such a box, so it had to be a guy, or it was a joke or it was for real.
"You bet I am right! It was me, Ichigo-kun." Renji laughed.
"What do you mean?" Ichigo asked suspicious while taking a distance from Renji.
"I love you, Ichigo-kun. I can't help it, it's just how I feel." He said while grabbing Ichigo's shoulders and he tried to pull him closer. But Ichigo backend away, but tripped over something and fell backwards, drawing Renji with him. They roll of the small hill and when they landed, Ichigo lie bottom and Renji on top of him.
"I got ya!" He grinned and placed his lips on Ichigo's.
