Hello trying to find this book sorry this is not a fan fiction story. But I need help, okay so I was reading a book in middle school at the school library and I loved it but don't remember the title name or the characters. Please help.
The story goes like this, it's a fantasy story takes place in medieval times but in a world of shape shifters two kingdoms at war one kingdom is full of half human, half serpent shape shifters the other kingdom half human, half bird. The two royal family has arranged a marriage to there children the serpent prince to marry to the other kingdom princess in order to stop the war. The point of view is the princess.
Here's some chapters that I remember
I remember the first chapter female princess walking through the war zone with her guards. Spot a serpent soldier dying on the ground, she holds his hand and sing to him till he died. A sign of compassion.
The prince confess to her that he already was in love with her the first time he laid eyes on her. Long time ago someone close to him ( I forgot who it was ) was killed by the enemy ( the princess soldiers ) so he wanted revenge so he road to her kingdom to kill her. Climb up her window has a knife but when he saw her lying in bed and how beautiful she look he couldn't do it. He touch her cheek she woke up screaming for her guards and he had no choice but to leave even do he wanted her .
The ending there was a plot to kill her she nearly died by a poison arrow but lived but the prince's mother dies in result saving the princess.
The princess character has warm skin and has bits of feathers in her hair and I think she's blond, she compassionate but fears the other kingdom but doesn't hate them even do her lover who was her previous guard die in battle. The prince has pale cold skin and red eyes and a little bit of scales on his body. He had a lover but she tried to kill the princess in the end of the book so he had her executed. There's a sequel of them but this time they have a child, a girl I think.
The author is a female and she's been writing sense she was a girl she has a lot of book publish. I hope someone out there can help with my search, I gladly appreciate this.
