Shirayuki had just finished sorting the medicines when she went out for a break. She noticed the air had started to get warm up, spring must be around the corner she thought while she made her way to her favorite spot to relax at. At the end of the long castle walkway there where stairs leading down to the lower level, hardly anyone ever used them since they where so out of the way. But that made it the perfect spot for the red head to relax and escape all the busyness of the pharmacy.
When she turned the corner expecting to see empty steps she jumped when she caught sight of a familiar looking cat eyed boy. "Oh Obi it's you" She giggled with a sigh of relief. A little embarrassed at the jump, even though her and Obi shared these steps often, she made her way to sit next to the knight.
Obi's features softened and a smile rested on his lips "Hello Mistress, working hard today?" Shirayuki smiled glad to be next to her friend again "you bet, although…it's very bittersweet. I feel as if my heart it in two places now. Lyrias and…"
"Wistalia? It's the same for me." Obi finished, letting a sigh escape his lips. Shirayuki looking off into the distance added "We've made many friends here, I'll miss them when we go back home but I'm also looking forward be being with Zen, Mitsuhide, and Kiki again." She let her head fall to obi's shoulder. Causing a slight jump from the boy but he quickly relaxed into the touch resting his head above hers.
"We've been apart from them for so long I've almost forgotten what it's like to be with them." Obi said. His cheeks turning a light red at the intimacy of the moment with the red haired girl.
"Thank you, Obi. Thank you for coming with me, and being by my side. I feel like I'm stronger with you here, and seeing your face always brings me home." Obi was about to say something but the pharmacist continued "And I know it must have been hard for you. Two years is a long time, that night we ran to see the sunrise and I told you about my dreams of Wiliant Castel, I realized. Your meant to run, your meant to be free." She nuzzled her face more into the boy's shoulder "And despite that, your still here. Thank you for staying by my side Obi."
Obi's throat felt dry, he silently thanked the God's above for the position they where in so she wouldn't see his blush. She always manages to do that, Obi thought. Trying to gain control over himself he managed to say "Mistress, you're the one who makes me feel free."
Now it was Shirayuki's turn to blush, she stayed quiet. "My place is by your side. I will follow you anywhere and everywhere." Obi put his arm around the girl. Shirayuki smiled "I'm glad you where with me." She said barely above a whisper.
Enjoying their moment of comfortable silence, both just happy just to be in each others company.
After a little while Shirayuki broke the silence, "I should probably get back now, I still need to sort the documents before I start packing." She made a movement to stand up, and Obi quickly did the same "Me too I need to deliver something to the check point before tonight"
"Don't work too hard" Shirayuki said smiling at the cat eyed knight. "Hey that should be my line" He laughed. She giggled before replying "Ok ok but be careful! See you in a bit" as she made her way up the steps Obi reached out and grabbed her hand, kneeled on one knee and kissed it "Mistress, thank you." Before jumping on the edge of the stairs and off into the trees toward the check point. Shirayuki had a light blush plastered on her face with her hand held close to her chest.
What was that all about? She thought.
