Substitute
He wasn't certain why he'd gone home with the man the night before House's funeral. Perhaps it had been an attempt to feel something other than anger and grief. Perhaps it had been due to the fellow looking so much like his fallen friend under the flashing lights of the nightclub. He'd been able to pretend that House hadn't fucked things up so badly that he'd ended up dying five months before him.
Wilson left before the other man awoke. He hadn't been allowed to say good-bye to his best friend; he wasn't going to waste it on a stranger.
