"You can not choose how you are born, but you can choose how you die." LMAOBROFLOL.
At nine years old, he knew the world. He knew it was full of love and compassion that only a mother can give. He knew this would last forever.
At ten, he knew the world was filled with pain and loss… hatred and death. His anger fueled by the fire he saw before him. He became a Freedom Fighter.
At eleven, he knew he had allies, formed from corruption and deceit, forcing trust through pain.
At twelve, he knew how to fight, how to be strong.
At thirteen, he knew he had friends, to help him when no one else, would, because they knew it was wrong.
At fourteen, he knew how to kill a man, and knew that the pain in him was nothing.
At fifteen, he knew how to kill a man without feeling the pain that ate away at his heart.
At sixteen, he knew love. He saw it in her blue eyes and knew she would help him. He was blinded by the lies he told himself and the pain he caused to others. He watched her walk away, leaving him like his mother.
At seventeen, he knew he had changed, he no longer killed, but he still fought.
And then all of this was taken away. There was no war, no pain or suffering, just the walls that kept him safe.
Then she brought it back, he knew she could. He helped her, to prove he has changed. They both knew the lies he told.
In his final fight, he was not fighting. He was being used for someone else's needs, like he used some many others. He had to fight back. He knew he had lost.
But then he remembered. He remembered compassion and love… pain and suffering. He fought one last time, for he would never fight again.
In his final moments he looked at all the things he thought he knew. He knew nothing. He looked at her and felt love again, but saw pain in her eyes. He knew he knew what those were now. He let one last lie pass through his lips. Not for him, but for her.
"I'll be alright"
He knew he was lying. He knew he wasn't alright.
But, what did he know.
