So lately I've been thinking about what would happen if two demigods had a child and I think this is what happens. This is only my second story ever so I apologize in advance for any discrepancies. P.S. I didn't want to deal with futuristic ideas and probabilities so this is set in the future but nothing is different in terms of flying cars and space travel and stuff…
What happens when two beings of unnatural power have a child? Scientifically, the child might not even have abilities but when you have a god's DNA well anything can happen… right?
"So my child is a god?" Nick asks, puzzled at even the possibility.
"Since you guys aren't science experts I'll explain this way," The doctor began to explain, "Imagine someone with two uppercase Ns wanted a baby with someone who has two lowercase ns, no matter what happens the baby will have an uppercase N and a lower case n because the baby will take a letter from both parents. The uppercase N is more powerful than the lowercase one genetically but imagine the essence of the lowercase n was so powerful that you still retained attributes from the lowercase n. That is how you get demigods, getting human and putting godly powers in that human."
"Alright, but that doesn't explain why our baby is a friggin' god." Leah says.
"Well you two are demigods which means both of you have one uppercase N and one lowercase n so the only three possibilities are two uppercase Ns which means human whereas there is a 25% chance of that happening, an uppercase N and lowercase n which means a demigod with a 50% chance of that happening, and finally, this is your child's case, the 25% percent chance that the child has two lowercase ns resulting in a god being born." The doctor said. The doctor spoke slowly so the newlyweds could understand.
The silence following the doctor's long explanation enveloped the room into a funeral like state. One might think that having a god as a child might not be such a bad thing. That is exactly what 27 year old Nick Jackson thought.
"This might not be such a bad thing… right?" Nick says to his wife.
"OF COURSE THIS IS A BAD THING," Leah screams, shedding a tear in the process, "Gods age at an accelerated rate until they reach adulthood, in a matter of months it'll be our age."
"Do you guys want to know the gender?" The doctor asks.
"Yeah, at least we can have that to tell our parents." Leah says to Nick.
"Well… it appears to be a boy." The doctor says.
As tears quietly stream down Leah's face, she giggles as she looks at her beloved husband, "I think we're good for today Dr. May."
"One last piece of information before you go," Dr. May says quickly, "Since the baby god is well… a god the baby, as you already know, is maturing at a speedier rate than normal."
"Alright, when should we expect the baby?" Nick asks.
"In a week." Dr. May says.
"Finally, some good news!" Nick shouts. "Can we go home now?"
"Alright let's go." Leah giggles as she wipes the tears off her face.
Nick and Leah Chase-Jackson had just married three months ago. Nick is the son of Percy and Annabeth Chase-Jackson who had retained his father's abilities of control of water and the seas along with the messy black hair and sea green eyes. Leah Chase-Jackson, originally Leah Kane is the daughter of Egyptian magic practitioner Carter Kane and the demigod daughter of Odin Margaret Kane (neé Levy). The couple considered themselves to be lucky because they had the child effortlessly but only three days after conception the baby bump was almost full size, that is when the couple decided to see Dr. May at the Colosseum Memorial Hospital in New Rome.
Nick was helping pregnant Leah into the car when…
"Already!" Leah says startled.
"What is it?" Nick says concerned.
"My water broke!"
