It was a warm spring day, and Beast Boy and Raven were in the living room playing chess.

"Ha! Beat you again!" Raven leaned back triumphantly, smirking. Beast Boy examined the chess board and scowled.

"Hey, don't cry over spilt milk." Beast Boy scowled again. "A leopard can't change its spots." He crossed his arms.

"Why are you going all 'idiot' on me?"

"Because I know them." Beast Boy raised an eyebrow. "And it's 'idiom'."

"Exactly how clever do you think you are?"

"Clever enough."

"Hm. We'll see about that."

"Okay." Raven said, taking his challenge. "We'll ask each other three questions. Miss only one and you'll be my personal servant for the rest of the day."

"No so fast. If I win, you're my servant and then I'll 'declare' you smarted than me." Beast Boy exaggerated the word 'declare.'

"What?!"

"Take it or leave it." Beast Boy thrust his hand forward. Raven eyed it and shook her hand with his.

"Deal."

"Alright." Beast Boy sat across from Raven on the couch in Titans' Tower; if they were going to have a proper challenge, they needed witnesses. And that's what Robin Cyborg and Starfire were their were there for. "You can go first."

"Alright then." Raven thought about her question. "What is the heaviest burden a person can carry?" She folded her arm confidently.

"Hm. That's easy." Beast Boy said with a smirk. "The secrets in his own soul."

"What?!" Raven persisted. Cyborg gaped.

"I'm afraid BB's right." Starfire wrote a 1 under Beast Boy's name on a board that had been set up.

"My turn." Beast Boy's eye glistened with mischief. "What is the measure of a man?" Raven scoffed.

"That's ever so easy! But measured how? Yard stick? Measuring tape? In feet?"

"I have always supposed that the measure of a person is by the size of their heart." Cyborg suggested.

"Correct!" Beast Boy beamed his friend. "That's using your head!" Raven scowled.

"Okay, Beast Boy. If you think you're so clever. What is the smartest part of the brain?" Beast Boy chuckled.

"The part smart enough to understand how little it knows." He chuckled again. "I'm sorry Rae, but is this your best material?" Starfire giggled and wrote a 2 under Beast Boy's name. Robin and Cyborg looked very amused that someone as smart and logical as Raven was being beat out by someone as…not smart and logical as Beast Boy.

"Alright. What the hardest thing a person can do?" The green changeling asked.

"Hmm. Oh! Scale Mt. Everest! Sail the Amazon! No. March into the streets of Katmandu." Raven answered triumphantly.

"I know!" Everyone turned to Robin. "The hardest thing a person can to is tell the truth!" Beast Boy grinned. Raven growled.

"Okay. Question number three. What is the lowest point on earth?"

"The point at which someone finds themselves all alone." Beast Boy answered quickly. Raven looked at Cyborg, Robin and Starfire for help. Starfire ducked behind the board. Robin tugged his cape collar. Cyborg twiddled his thumbs. Raven gasped slightly.

"Alright Raven. My last question." Raven crossed her arms.

"Right." She seethed

"What is the strongest thing in the world?"

"Uh. The tiger. No. The horse. Um…The lion!" Beast Boy smirked. "The tides of the sea? Anyone?"

"I think it must be patience." Starfire smiled. "For it is patience that over-comes all things."

"You are really good Star." Beast Boy turned to Raven. "Patience can move mountains." Raven sighed.

"I don't get it. How could someone as low at Beast Boy beat me in a test of wits?"

"Maybe you're a book and facts person. And that's good. But sometimes it's better not to use those as a resource." Beast Boy touched her shoulder. Raven half-smiled and nodded.

"I guess you're right." Beast Boy smirked.

"Now, be a good girl and get me some tofu." Raven sighed again and rolled her eyes.

"Right…"
