AN: Written for my sister when she was feeling low, it's about her favourite couple: Diao Chan and Lu Bu, and I can't deny I love this pairing too. (I'm a SSXxLB fan so I don't like DCxLB)

Oh yeah and this is set as if Lu Bu won Xia Pi, but he disappeared shortly before the end.

WARNING: ANYONE WHO DOESN'T LIKE A SOFTER LU BU DON'T READ!! I'VE CHANGED HIM FOR DIAO CHAN

Diao Chan sat down on the bridge just inside Xia Pi castle hugging her knees to her chest, fearing that Lu Bu was dead. She didn't even hear the footsteps of the soldiers around her fixing the castle after Cao and Liu Bei's betrayal. No one bothered Diao Chan, the last soldier that did had made her burst into tears and he had felt so bad he nearly overworked himself.

Diao Chan stayed on the bridge all evening and into the night. She felt somewhat happy here, it had been the last time she had seen Lu Bu, mounted atop Red Hare, riding out to kill his betrayer Liu Bei. It was only after Lu Bu had gone that Diao Chan completely realised how much she loved him, she buried her head into her knees, the soldiers who were working in that area of the castle all decided to leave Diao Chan in peace and left the area to concentrate on the weaker parts of the castle.

She must have fallen asleep because next time she looked up it was nearly dawn, she heard footsteps and assumed one of the guards had come back to work, but he came over to her and stopped in front of her, when she looked up her heart leapt. Lu Bu was still alive

"Lord Lu Bu?" Diao Chan said her voice barely louder than a whisper.

Lu Bu smiled, a rare sight, and he knelt down beside her. "You didn't think I'd die did you?"

Now it was Diao Chan who was smiling "I thought you'd left me here"

"Diao Chan, I'd never go anywhere without you"

Diao Chan didn't feel convinced; she looked down into her hands. Lu Bu could still sense that Diao Chan was sad so he placed his hand on her cheek, she eventually looked up and him, he smiled and removed his hand and pulled her to her feet, she threw her arms around him. Lu Bu almost laughed and hugged her.

"Diao Chan, I love you I'd never leave you... Remember that"

Lu Bu kissed her forehead and she responded by holding onto him tightly, Lu Bu swallowed, he'd never been nervous before in his life.

"Diao Chan, now there's nothing between us... and I want it to stay that way"

"So do I Lord Lu Bu"

"Then will you marry me?"

Diao Chan broke apart and looked at him, then a huge smile came onto her face.

"Of course!"

Lu Bu smiled again and hugged her, picking her up off her feet. Lu Bu ordered a banquet to be made in the now repaired banquet hall especially for his new bride.

Really short but hopefully sweet too. Told you I'd made Lu Bu a softie compared to his normal self but hopefully this kind suits him.
