AN: This is an alternate ending to the season premier last night. This is only a one chapter story about what I thought should have been said on the beach at the end. Please read and review….
Alternate Ending Beach Scene
Mac and Harm sat on the beach watching the waves splash against the shore. They dug their feet into the soft sand not saying anything until Mac broke the ice.
"I broke up with Webb. It's finally over," she sighed.
"How are you feeling about it," Harm asked.
"After the way Clay acted I'm a little relieved that it's over," she confessed.
"What happened?" Harm asked trying not to sound to excited that Webb was finally out of her life.
"I just kept getting the feeling that he loved his job more than he did me. He knew who Simon really was and he let him keep hanging around me, using me. That really pissed me off."
"You deserve someone better than that," Harm said.
"My track record with relationships has been going down hill, so I'm starting to question that," Mac said sadly.
"Mac, don't ever question what you deserve. You deserve someone who will put you first, someone who would love and care for you forever. Someone like….." But before he finished he broke off his sentence.
"Someone like what?" She asked knowing where he was going with this. He didn't say anything so she asked, "Someone like you?" Harm looked deep into her eyes, and she could just tell that was what he had meant.
"Do you want to talk about this?" Harm asked. "We have been dancing around this subject for what seems like forever. I really want you to know how I truly feel about you."
"There is soooooo much for us to talk about," she answered, as she locked eyes with him.
"We have time," Harm said. "But first I think this would help you understand better about my feelings." Mac looked at him questioningly and was taken by surprise as she was taken in his arms. She leaned into the kiss that came, not wanting it to stop. That kiss was magical and showed all the feelings they had felt for each other though the passing years.
"I love you, Harm," Mac said when they broke apart.
"I love you too," he answered, as she laid her head against his shoulder.
They continued to talk about what they had needed to say to each other. All their hopes and feeling about each other came pouring out, as they relaxed on the calm beach. Afterwards they enjoyed the sunset. They sky seemed to be in flames. It was lighted up with colors of orange, red, and a pale pink color, as the sun went down. It was symbolizing a new beginning for them and they soaked up the sunset, that made the water glitter with the reflecting color, as they laid in each others arms.
