Deserving
If you were told you had to kill to live what would you do? Would you run away, hide and pretend it didn't happen, or would you stay and fight in order to protect those you love?
That was the question the Boy-Who-Lived was trying to answer. Would society still see him as the virtuous Boy-Who-Lived after he had killed, even if it was in order to protect them?
Knowing them they would think he was a mad raving maniac who would become the next Dark Lord.
Maybe he should keep the name the Chosen One and turn it into a synonym for evil.
Hah that would be the day, turn the Prophet's name for the "hero" against them. Then again if Moldieshorts was destroyed they wouldn't care how it happened or the guilt that he would feel. They would celebrate, would forget about the boy who used to be Tom Riddle. The boy he was before being corrupted by manipulative old fools.
They'd forget about the grief and the tragedy and the trauma caused to the boy-who-lived or whatever hyphenated pseudonym they'd come up with for him after he became a murderer.
This world deserves his hatred, the world where the hope of survival rests on a boy, a world where people stop caring about people, where they persecute those who are different. Why is he helping? What did they do for him? He had been hated, despised, stalked, tortured physically and mentally and only revered for the night his mother saved his life.
The day they decided a boy would save them is the day he decided that they don't deserve saving.
