[Launch Raid]

I was walking around the tower one day when I say a poster on the wall near me.

'Don't forget to rally!'

The caption was overlaid on a picture of a 6-man fireteam posing next to the dead body of Riven — The last known Ahamkara.

Letting out a smile at the poster I reminisced back to the time when my own fireteam did exactly what the poster was advocating against.

We had just gotten to Riven after flawlessing the previous four encounters, and we were ready to kill the Ahamkara and complete the raid. Having just decided on roles for the fireteam members, we stood on the six plates in the main room and fell through them as they opened.

Falling around the body of Riven, our warlock spoke up "Uh hey guys, but I didn't rally at the flag..."

There were groans all around as we questioned what we had done to deserve such a guardian in our fireteam.

"Seriously? Is it that hard to pray at a flag?" Called our titan.

"H-hehe, I guess I was just distracted by impure thoughts about Riven..." Our warlock sounded somewhat embarrassed, but we couldn't see tell as her face was hidden behind a helmet.

After several more exasperated statements left the mouths of the fireteam we decided to attempt the fight anyways and to hope that our warlock would be able to build the necessary super when it came time to deal damage to the boss.

All running to the crystal room, we stood close as we waited for a sign of the architects that came in the form of a shadow moving across the back wall.

Spreading across the room we began clearing the enemies of Taken Thrall, Psions, and Hobgoblins when we heard the sound of Riven climbing around the center room that we had previously fallen through to reach our current location.

Grouping up between two sets of dead plants, we waited for Riven to come through the taken film that was the wall, and when she did so, several things happened at once.

First. Our warlock activated her super — Well of Radiance, which boosted our damage.

Second. Our titan sprinted towards the boss enemy, and after leaping into the air, flicked out a solar empowered hammer towards her mouth to inflict Melting Point on Riven.

Third. Our multiple hunters activated their own light powers, and using the effects of the Exotic Celestial Nighthawk, fired high powered beams of solar energy straight into the target of the taken ball that Riven was charging.

Lastly, after everyone did their own specific parts, we fired off special rockets towards her mouth for maximum damage, and after a few seconds we all began shouting in excitement as Riven was forced to retreat from the room.

There was a flash of light, and we were all transported to the Ascendant Realm, a separate dimension which I had been in previously during 'Ascendant Challenges' in the Dreaming City.

Following the platforms that we could see in front of us, we ran, and as we ran we engaged and defeated the Taken Phalanxes that formed out of the surrounding ether.

Using every ability in our kits, we reached the taken strength in front of us, and once I absorbed the Taken Strength we were all transported back to the starting room of the fight.

Quickly repositioning ourselves, we readied for the last stand of Riven, and as she once again emerged and opened her great maw we fired.

The last vestiges of her life disappearing Riven flopped onto the ground in front of us and her mouth slid open.

Leaping in side we ran down her throat to find her heart which was quickly defeated by the remainder of our ammunition.

"Alright. Bourbon, you grab the heart, and everyone — remember to count."

Following the instructions, we ran out of her mouth, and as Bourbon disappeared to the Ascendant Realm we began firing off our supers like candy.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

The mantra continued in the background as we escaped through the raid continuing towards Vault. It was a frantic rush which I can barely remember, but at the end of it we were all standing in a semicircle as we watched the witches Kalli and Shuro Chi purify the heart just as promised.

Just like that it was over, we all took a seat on the stairs that surrounded the area, and we rested our bodies, ready for the next adventure.

Alright, so I was running the Last WIsh raid in Destiny 2 tonight and I mentioned that I wrote fan fiction. This evolved into writing this which is basically what I was writing during the entire raid with changes to make it read better.
