"I'll see you."
"Not if I see you first."

With that, Chris Chambers turned to walk home. But he couldn't help but take one last look at the town as a hero.

Over the last two days, he didn't think too much about his home life, about his family, or about the name they forced him to have. All he thought about was the body they were traveling to see. But now he was heading home, and he knew what he would find:

His mother might be home, going frantic that both he and his brother had been gone for so long. His father would be mad that he was gone for so long; especially if his father knew Chris had taken his gun. And his other siblings would be just as obnoxious and annoying as ever. His father would hide him, good and hard, because he had gone so many days without anyone to take it out on.

But that didn't matter to him now, because until he walked in the front door, Chris Chambers would still be a hero.
