"This was the best decision. We believed they would be safer in an institution. They're a danger to themselves and the people around them."
"Yes. I understand, but this isn't your usual case of mistaken identity. There's something different about this bunch." The two neurologists walked down the hall to the lounge.
Voices were coming from the room:
"Rachel," Terry Sullivan, who thought he was Jake, said. "Get ready in bear morph."
"Gotcha." Ashley Trump said. She thought she was Rachel.
"What do we do?" Michael Thompson-Marco.
"You get ready in bird morph. Rachel and I will get in, grab the kandrona and get out. If anything happens, sound the alarm." Terry said. "Go!"
Michael, Alex, Sharon, and Trevor, who thought they were Marco, Tobias, Cassie and Ax squatted down and started flapping and squawking. Ashley started growling and roaring. Terry got down on all fours and did a tiger's screaming growl.
Terry and Ashley backed up against one of the padded walls, then ran to the opposite wall and then turned around. They ran to the other wall and ran back again. This continued for a few times, until finally they stopped at the door. They tried opening it, but it was locked because of the last time they got out, they created havoc in the kitchen. The must've thought they got in because they turned around and slowly walked to the center of the room.
"There it is," Terry said, covering his mouth with his hand to sound like thought-speak.
"Let's destroy it!" Ashley said, also covering her mouth.
"We have to take care of the Hork-Bajir-" Which were the really the rest of the "Animorphs" making weird faces and looking vicious-"first."
The started fighting inn slow motion, not hurting anyone, but they didn't seem to think that.
"Glphe nesh my wednes!" Sharon cried, thinking she was speaking Galard.
After a short fight, Michael, Alex, Sharon and Trevor lay on the floor, pretending to be dead.
Ashley and Terry knocked over something imaginary inn the middle of the room, then shouted and cheered. The then did a few more laps across the room, then met up the rest of the "Animorphs." They all "demorphed," which to them was talking normal again. They rejoiced, saying "We hurt the Yeerks," and such.
Six kids finished looking in the window of the room. "If only they knew for real what was going on." Hal said.
"Yeah, but would they care? And what would happen if the Yeerks did find out? What then? We's just be found out. We can't have that, Hal."
"Yeah, Seth, but who would believe lunatics?"
"We would," Cassie said.
"Yeah, we would," Kate said.
They walked up to the roof, morphed, and flew away.
