"I never thought I'd have to tell you to get out of the pond."

Pansy grinned to herself, as her foot played with a patch of algae. It was true that the water behind her home with her new husband Charlie wasn't what one would traditionally call "clean." But she had put on her tasteful, married-lady one piece, and had found her way there almost immediately.

"And I never thought a dragon tamer would be afraid of a little dirt." He laughed at her response, a resounding sound that drove her crazy. She had prided herself on her stone face, but when Charley smiled, she was powerless to not echo his features.

"I'm not worried about DIRT, more so about the snakes."

"Ah, then you see, I'm right at home." She parried, splashing her hand in the water lightly. Ignoring her, Charlie bent down to run his fingers through the murky water.

"You could have at least thrown a scourgify about, love." He frowned.

Pansy shrugged, and moved to the edge of the pond. Charlie reached out for her, and she ran her wet fingers along his dry palm. "It's not every day I get to experience something more contaminated than I am." She didn't have to look up to know her husband would be glaring a hole through her with a wrinkled forehead. "Yes, that's right darling. It's unfortunate but true that marrying the man of my dreams didn't fix me."

Charlie groaned and pulled her out of the water, wiping a stray damp leaf from her leg. He wrapped his arms around her, and his beard tickled her ear as he whispered. "You'd have to be broken for you to be fixed, love. You know I am sorry for what you went through, but selfishly, I'm grateful that it means I got this version of you. And I'm rather fond of THIS you."

Pansy attempted to roll her eyes, a futile gesture since a smile was also tugging on her lips. They sat silently for a while, two newlyweds basking in the warmth of each other.

"I like water." She mumbled, her fingers dragging a circle through his arm hair, interrupting the silence.

"Slytherin." he scoffed. "We Gryff's prefer fire."

She smiled as her head lulled back against his shoulder. "Ah, then you're right at home."
