James had never had a great home life. His parents fought constantly, and when they weren't fighting, they were to teaching how to be a "good person." From
an early age James had been told that being gay was a sin, and that all gay people were going to hell, including his brother. Now James didn't remember much
of his brother, why would he? Aiden came out when he was sixteen and James was three. The Diamonds had promptly kicked Aiden out and moved away. From
that day on they never spoke of Aiden again. He was a forgotten stain, that had almost faded, on the family tapestry.
For years his parents drilled the idea of being gay as a sin, an abomination, a repulsive thought, into James' head. So when he became interested in his friend
Kendall in more than a friendly way, at the age of thirteen, he began to hate himself. He thought about how wrong it was to feel that way. He never dared to
tell his parents about he was feeling. He told nobody. So these feelings of self-resentment boiled inside of him, causing him to begin hating gay people even
more. Though he never showed it, he hated himself beyond belief.
So when Carlos came out to the group his parents years of brainwashing took over. He felt as if Carlos didn't deserve to live. He needed to rid the Earth of one
more fag. But his inner self struggled against these thoughts. But the thoughts were stronger. So he took it to the extreme, and decided to hit Carlos with his
car. When Kendall yelled at him, it snapped him out of it. He realized that he liked men. So he sat there as the cops questioned him, sobbing uncontrolably.
Kendall, the love of his life, would more than likely never forgive him for this. And he didn't know how to react to this. He would do whatever it took to make sure
that they all became friends again.
Years passed before the boys forgave him. They finally understood after he explained his reasoning. But the friendship was more tense than before. James
began to get sick. He had gotten a rare form of lung cancer. The doctors put him on aggressive chemotherapy and almost completely saved him. But the thing
about cancer is that it's a tricky little bastard. Kendall came to visit him in the hospital and thinking that he was going to die, James confessed his love for
Kendall. Kendall too confessed his love. James miraculously seemed to be cured of his cancer. He and Kendall married in the summer, on the beach. They
adopted a one year old baby girl, Laila. James relapsed and died four years later. Whenever Laila asked Papa about Daddy, Kendall would tell her how her
Daddy had made some mistakes in his life, but he was a great man in the end.
