" If you want her to stop behaving this way, you'll have to find a mate for her soon."

" What nonsense are you talking about?" Giovanni narrowed his eyes. " What's this 'her' you speak of? Who are you talking about, Sebastian?"

" Persian. I'm afraid that he is a she." the professor rubbed the cat-type pokemon behind the ears, looking more serious than ever. " And she's in heat. Which means...I don't have to tell you the reason she's been so obnoxious lately."

" A SHE?!" Giovanni seemed outrage. " That's impossible. When it was a Meowth I...I..."

" Yes?"

" I checked!"

" It's hard to tell when they're young, sir. An honest mistake."

Giovanni stared at the doctor for a good long while. This was the kind of prank that some of the agents might try to pull. But...not Sebastian. He didn't have a sense of humor.

"...Sebastian, are you sure?"

" You've seen my credentials. I didn't study pokemon biology for 7 years at Goldenrod University to have you second guess me." he seemed hurt by the notion.

Giovanni's head fell into his hands.

" This whole thing has given me a headache. You're right...thank you, professor, you're dismissed."

" Of course."

As soon as he was back in his office, making sure to lock the door behind him, Sebastian exploded in laughter. Persian, Giovanni's male Persian, had simply been suffering from a tootheache, and that was all. He knew that eventually Giovanni would find out that it had only been a joke, but it would be quite a while.

Sebastian understood that Giovanni would be too embarrassed to 'check' again.
