Prompt: Breathe- Taylor Swift

Emily was driving away from Reid's house. She had tears running down her face. All she could think about were the last he said to her. Emily never thought it would end the way it did.

"Emily, I don't think this is working out."

"What are you talking about?" Emily asked, calmly.

"Us. I just don't feel the same way I did before."

"Spencer, I love you. I don't want this to end."

"Emily, we can't have a relationship if one of us doesn't love the other."

"...Spencer, is there something I can do? I want to be with you forever." Emily said, tears in her eyes.

"Emily, I'm sorry. I don't love you."

With those words, the tears were released. She didn't want to cry in front of him, but she had to let her feelings show.

"Emily, I don't want to see you like this. can you please leave?"

Emily started toward the door, but she turned around.

"Bye, Reid" This hurt Reid a lot because she hadn't called him Reid in a long time. She turned and walked out of his house, for the last time.

Emily turned on the radio and a love song was playing. She started crying even more.

Music starts playing like the end of a sad movie.
It's the kind of ending you don't really want to see,

Emily got home and crawled into bed.

It's 2am, feeling like I just lost a friend.

Reid arrived at work and saw that Emily's desk was empty. He went over to her desk and saw that there was nothing. He went to his desk and saw a note.

Dear Spencer,

I can't change how you feel. I'm sorry. I had to leave. I'll miss you and the team. I loved you, but you didnt love me back. I have handed in my resignation letter and I left immediately. I'm sorry, but this was the only way I could leave my feelings behind.

Reid couldn't believe it. He ran up to Hotch's office.

"Hotch, did Emily resign?"

"Yes. She left her resignation letter this morning, along with her badge and gun."

Reid ran out of Hotch's office. He grabbed his stuff and drove to Emily's house.

"Oh my God. This is all my fault. What did I do?"

Never wanted this, never want to see you hurt.
Every little bump in the road, I tried to swerve.
People are people and sometimes it doesn't work out.
And nothing we say is going to save us from the fallout.

Reid knocked on the door and waited.

Emily was packing all of her bags, when she heard a knock on the door. She walked over and opened the door. She was shocked when she saw Spencer there. She thought she was dreaming.

"What are you doing here?" Prentiss asked.

"I came to say sorry. Please don't leave."

"I already handed in my resignation letter. I can't come back. Nothing you say or do can change anything. I'm so-"

Reid took two steps and captured Emily's lips in his. She tried to push him away, but he had a tight hold on her. Soon, she found herself kissing him back. Reid pulled back and they looked into each others' eyes.

"I'm sorry. I love you, Emily. I didn't know how much I loved you until I found the letter you wrote me. Please forgive me." Reid said, quickly.

"I love you, too, Spencer. I forgive you."

"Let's try to find a way to get your job back." They kissed again. They got in Reid's car and drove to Quantico.
