Journal # 1

Septemeber 15th 1506

Dear diary, today was one of the worst days of my life, I just witnessed another villager die at the hands of the local magistrate. Why is everyone dying? I tried to ask Ma what was going on, but she told me to be quiet. She told me "you should only speak, when told too". Sometimes I wonder, why we had to move to this village. Its been so creepy, just going out. The other kids don't speak to one another, like there's a secret that must be kept. Ive tried to befriend them, but they run away, like I have some sort of disease that will affect them in some way.

It rained today, our family moved villages because the last one was burned down, by some arsonist, but no one was caught. Its been hard adjusting to this one, not that I care. To me its all the same, but this one.. this one feels weird, like, something bad is about to happen. I watch Ma as she starts the fireplace. It grows dark outside, and its cold. Sometimes its hard for me to even write as my fingers are stiffened by the cold. We have a place to live, this being a small house and all. I looked around the place. Its quite new with a basement and an attic. Ma says that we still need to unpack our things. The fires light glows against the wooded floors casting shadows long and wide. I wonder about how the fire started.. and why did that man have to die….

Closing the diary Luna McAlister placed the black ink quill in the ink bottle, being cautious not to get the ink on her white dress. Sliding the wooden chair back, Luna gets up slowly making her way towards her mother. "Ma, you need to rest, its getting dark now, and you have done so much today." With her back to her daughter, Mina shakes her head, her brunette waves swaying slightly. "Not yet, there are still things that need to be done." Getting up off the floor Mina slowly turns around, her 5.6 composure, matching Luna's height. Luna observed her mother's calm completion that mirrored her own. A rounded face with wavy brunette hair, wide open eyes, filled with dark hazel coloring. She was striking; even her eyelashes were full and thick. Walking closer to her daughter Luna observed the way her mother moved, graceful yet dominant. With wide shoulders, a full chest and a curvy body, her mother said "We need to prepare for the next gathering. The Magistrate has assigned me town duty. I need your help in getting the things prepared" Nodding, Luna followed her mother, leaving the fireplace burning. Walking steadily behind her mother Luna watched her mother walk, her legs moving beneath the long white cloak.

I wonder why she was chosen to assist the magistrate, he never calls on anyone from the village, so why us? .
