Author's note: I wrote this years ago, when I was having writer's block and I asked my friend to give me a prompt. She wanted a story from Crookshanks' point of view. I'm posting it now so I have all my work in one place.
Why must she allow Not Rat's boy to be around her? If she would dismiss Not Rat's boy, than I could properly dispose of Not Rat. Or at least bring him to Not Dog. Even Not Dog is better than Not Rat. Plus Not Dog seems to have an idea on what to do with Not Rat. He wants me to bring Not Rat to him.
But alas, no. She does allow Not Rat's boy to be around her. And everytime I try to dispose of Not Rat or bring it to Not Dog, the boy intervenes. And he shouts at Her, and She shouts back, and then She will run up stairs with me, and hold me so I cannot move, even if I wanted to. Which I generally don't, as She seems to need me to not move.
But at last I have succeeded. I have chased Not Rat out of doors. Perhaps now Not Dog will be able to dispose of it himself. The shouting of Not Rat's boy has at least stopped, but She still holds me so that I cannot move and occasionally does that thing that makes my fur wet.
