It had been the last four months of school when Hermione Granger had started getting strange feelings around a certain Slytherin. She had tried to figure out what these feelings were, but she couldn't think of any explanation. Well...she could think of one...but surely that was impossible! She told herself in her head that there was no way she could ever feel that way about a Slytherin. It was out of the question, but the more time went on, the more she became unsure of herself. Something in her mind was whispering, "Are you sure about that?"
"Of course I'm sure!!" she told herself furiously, for what felt like the millionth time. She couldn't ignore the question that kept dancing around inside her head.
However, in the last month of term before the summer holidays, she came to realise that maybe she did feel something towards him. Even if she didn't want to.
What made the situation worse, was that this certain Slytherin was one that she despised most. He was the one that had tormented her the constantly since her first year at Hogwarts. He was her enemy. He was Draco Malfoy.
She knew, of course, that most of the other girls at Hogwarts found him irresistably hot. Even if he acted like a total jerk, she found herself thinking, "Well...I guess he is hot now I think about it..."
"No!!!" she told herself. "Don't think like that! Even if he is hot, he's still your enemy and look what he's put you through all of these years! He hates you! He thinks your nothing but a 'filthy mudblood' and you're thinking of him like that? Get a grip on yourself!!"
As much as she tried to get him out of her head, she just couldn't. It didn't matter how hard she tried, she couldn't succeed.
She closed the book that she was reading with much more force than intended. She stared at the book momentarily, then proceeded up to the dormitory, hoping to get some well earned rest.
