Dear Diary,
Is that how I should start? Hermione gave me this journal as a gift and told me to write everything important down, that it would be another friend and help me see things in a different light. Mum always told me stories where girls would write in a diary and start off with those words, so I guess that's how I will start also.
Tonight I watched Hermione and Severus get married. They really are perfect for each other. Draco lent them his family's private island in Venice, and the wedding was staged outside on a balcony. Severus was smart and placed several small sprigs of mistletoe around to keep out the horny Nargles, and a few candles were floating around so nobody tripped and fell. Not that there were many people there - it was just them with Draco and me as witnesses, and the officiate of course.
Hermione had invited Harry and Ronald, but things are still very tense after the engagement party last week. Hermione had invited all the Weasleys to that party, and then right before the dancing started, Ronald had bent down on one knee and proclaimed to everyone that he loved Hermione, and would she marry him instead? He even had a ring in his pocket! I thought Severus was going to kill him right there in front of everyone. He finally calmed down after I explained that I could tell Ronald was having a bit of a vacation from his brain - I'm pretty sure that he's infested with Addle-em's and they of course were being even more active than usual due to the start of the Nargle mating season. Severus is still very upset with Ronald, but I'm pretty sure he won't kill him the next time he sees him. Harry thought it best to keep Ronald away from the actual wedding, though - better to be safe and alive than to give the groom a chance to murder you. He told us when he owled that he wouldn't be coming.
The night sky was clear, and the stars were shining bright up in the sky - everyone knows that it's a good omen to marry when the sky is free of clouds, it keeps the Waggle Whims away. Hermione humored me and wore the turnip hair clips I made for her, but she was wrackspurt free the whole night, thank you very much!
Well, it's very late now so I think I will go to sleep. Maybe tomorrow I'll start writing about my school years; I still have some issues with that time of my life. It would be nice to see some of the things that happened differently. Goodnight!
