Grown Men Don't Cry

Darien was driving home from his office at, Chiba International Bank, when he heard a song come on the radio. He turned it up and listened to the song, the entire time thinking about how it related to his life.

I pulled into the shoppin center, and saw a little boy wrapped around the legs of his mother. Like Ice Cream melting, they embraced, years of bad decisions run down her face. All mornin I been thinkin my life so hard and they wore everything they own, liven in a car. I wanted to tell them it would be okay, but I just got in my Suburban and I, drove away.

And I don't know why they say grown men don't cry,

I don't know why they say grown men don't cry.

I keep havin this dream 'bout my old man, I'm 10 years old and he's holdin my hand. We're sittin on the front porch whatchin the sun go down, but it was just a dream he was a slave to his job and he couldn't be around. So many things I wanna say to him but I just place a rose on his grave and I.. talk to the wind.

And I don't know why they say grown men don't cry.

I don't know why they say grown men don't cry, don't cry.

I'm sittin here with my kids( Rini ) and my wife( Serena ) and everything that I hold dear in my life. We say grace and thank the lord, got so much to be thankful for. Then it's up to bed and my little girl says "I haven't had my story yet." Everything weighin on my mind disappears just like that, when she lifts her head off her pillow and says " I love you Dad."

And I don't know why they say grown men don't cry.

I don't why they say grown men don't cry.

I don't know why they say grown men don't cry.

I don't know why they say grown men don't cry, don't cry.

Darien was just pulling into his driveway when the song ended. He smiled and shut off the engine of his Suburban. He walked inside his house, walked over to where Serena was standing by the kitchen sink, took her in his arms and kissed her passionately. She quickly returned the kiss, wrapping her arms around his neck. When the kiss finally ended due to lack of air, Serena smiled. " Someone had a good day.'' She said. " More like a good drive home." Darien said.

"Is Rini asleep?" Darien asked her. " Probably not, I just tucked her in." Serena said, seeing his intentions, she added, "Why don't you go up and see her, she's been asking for her daddy all day." Darien smiled, patted her lovingly on her rear, and went up the stairs to his daughter's room. "Daddy!" Rini cried when she saw the man in her doorway. He went over to her, scooped her up, and planted a kiss on her forehead. Rini giggled. "So, tell me about your day Baby." Darien told his daughter. And she proceeded to tell him every detail, while Serena listened, smiling, outside the door. When Rini finally went to sleep, Darien softly shut the door, and turned to Serena. "There's something different about you, love." Darien said. Serena smiled, took his hand and placed it on her abdomen. Darien's eyes grew wide, and then he pulled her closely to him. "You know, love, I am the luckiest man alive." Serena smiled, "I love you." She said. "And I love you." Darien said. They hugged, as a single, silent tear rolled down his cheek.

And I don't know why they say grown men don't cry.
