The morning simply had to be Hermione's favorite part of the day. She was always greeted with something interesting, whether it was taking care of Rose and Hugo or making sure that Ron was starting his day off productively, she could count on something to make sure her brain was properly stimulated.
But this morning a most daunting task lied ahead of her.
How exactly was she supposed to get Ron up?
Most of the time he was already up and mumbling genially about her sleeping habits, including her tendency to snore louder than he did and her vicious night time rumbles with her pillow which could easily kick him off the bed.
But this morning he had defied the norm and stayed asleep.
She sighed, tapping her wand against her chin. She had given up shaking him awake ages ago, and now magic seemed to be the most useful way to go about this. Of course using a simple spell like Rennervate would take all the fun out of it, so it was out of the question.
"Aguamenti." She murmured, watching as the clear jet of water shot out towards Ron's face. She frowned when it made little to no effect on him except for a little bit of spluttering on his part.
"Levicorpus." He flew into the air by his ankle, and still he slept on. She released him and he collapsed to the bed, a soft sigh escaping the mattress. She ran through her vast repertoire of spells, trying to come up with one that would be the least damaging to him.
The Stinging Hex ran itself through her mind but she cast it aside, not wanting him to wake up to a sore bum. All her other spells it seemed were simply too dangerous to use.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" She spat out, quite irritated at this point. He floated upwards and she gave a few violent shakes of her wand just to jostle him from sleep and with a frustrated shrill she thrust him down again when he only snorted. She set her wand on the nightstand and crawled into the bed, turning Ron around on his back.
"Ronald, wake up!" She groaned, shaking him. In a last ditch effort she added in a please and kissed him on the lips.
She squealed when she felt his arms wrap around her waist and pull her in for another chaste kiss.
"Bit early in the morning to be randy, isn't it?" he mumbled against her cheek sleepily.
"You prat! After all I did to try and wake you up..." She grumbled, untangling herself from him and hopping off the bed, stomping away. He looked at her retreating figure, bemused.
"What?"
"And you better not fall asleep again!"
