Every day, I am faced with several tasks of collecting the souls of those who's spirits must go to 'the other side'. When I do so, I am also granted access to their past: their influences to those surrounding them. It is always interesting to watch their lives play before my eyes, as the images flow past me as if they were merely screenshots of a huge film animation.

I have been doing this for countless years; so many years that I have lost count of how many have passed! I have managed to do so, undetected upon the earth's surface (by mortals), due to my amazing disguise! Mortals look upon my store and myself, and they decide that I am fitting to my role.

I work within the funeral and morgue industry. The darkened walls; consisting of whites, greys and blacks; along with the corpses and coffins that lay inside were always enough to send shivers down the mortals' spines, while also captivating them – they could never look away.

To an extent that parallels with myself: The Undertaker.

If one of the mortals dare to look past my oversized, blackened cloak; my scruffy, but remarkably long, locks of hair and into my emerald green eyes… If they ever got that far, they would decide myself to be irresistible, and comply to my every wish: my every desire.

Those mortals souls? They are normally the annoyingly stubborn and resistant ones, but they become weak with one, single glance. One look is all it takes to melt them – honestly, anybody would think myself a supermodel with some of their reactions!

The point is: no person can resist me.

No person can avoid Death, there is no such thing as immortality.

I often get questioned, as a last question: 'is there immortality?' I never respond, since that is not a requirement. But, it does get a person thinking.

Immortality isn't real, since a person does physically remain permanently dead – even I am physically dead. However, sometimes there are some exceptions to this idea of 'immortality'.

While you cannot physically survive through generation after generation, you can definitely live on in several different ways. There are many examples of this:

Memories. Individuals live on through them all: good and bad. That is probably why history carries more significance than a person can recognise. History's primary goal is to educate the human race on their past mistakes, however with that, it carries the memories of the individuals that impacted the world, or a fraction of the world.

Well done, mortals, you keep mass murderers alive.

But, there is a sort of positivity to this idea. The loved ones also live on through these stories. In short, if a person is remembered, they are truly immortal – until the human race is inevitably wiped out.

Not yet, please, that would be a lot of paperwork!

Feelings. While this often can be confused for memories, such as remembering loving your mother dearly, it is a completely different idea. For example: love is a concept that even animals can understand. Love is an immortal emotion, because it lives on through everything, even those not living can love.

I'm dead and I love to watch mortals run around and try to make their lives of some significance – another example.

There is one more immortal concept that I have thought of: Death.

That is right, I am immortal. The one thing every living thing fears most is immortal.

Even if the planet dies, there are other things that can still die. When they die? There is nothing but a void, oh, but what exactly is a void?

A lack of life. Also known as, immortal and eternal Death.

Ah… A lifeless galaxy…

No mortals; no paperwork – just nothing!

What a life!
