The storm raged forcing the helpless sea to assault the mighty glacier wall. For countless years, the glacier fed the sea with fresh ice. That night, the storm demanded more. Unable to resist the onslaught, the glacier wall fell defeated.

The hungry sea churned the boulders of ice smashing them against each other. Wave after wave forced the icy remains to continue pulverizing. At some point, one of the boulders shattered releasing a winged humanoid figure into the water. The body sank into the depths leaving behind the chaos of the surface battle.

The water turned calmer the deeper the figure sank. In the solace of darkness, the lifeless casualty settled on the seafloor.

However, life did remain. A small spark of orange light started glowing on its back, steadily growing brighter and larger. The body rose from the sea floor, slowly floating upward.

As the body approached the havoc on the surface, the figure awoke. It quickly surveyed the surroundings. Then it released a blast of energy from its back, rushing toward the sky. Exploding out of the sea, the figure spread its wings and rocketed away into the stormy night.

This being was not a victim of the storm's fury, but had been a prisoner of the glacier's icy dungeon. The storm utilized the sea's power to release the winged prisoner from the shackles of ice. The storm had freed Archangel, the first Spaceknight!
