Tonight

I do all my own stunts (no beta on this one...)

Disclaimer: I don't.

"Pull over."

"Why? I'm not--"

"Gil! Christopher Columbus didn't have this much trouble finding the Americas!"

"He was looking for India..."

"I know that, it's just-it's raining out. That's hindering your vision somewhat, but we've been down this street five times now. Pull over. I'll call the store, find out its exact location and we'll go from there. Relax. This is supposed to be fun."

Grissom sighed and put on his turn signal before pulling off to the side of the road. "This had better be worth it."

Sara grinned with her phone to her cheek, "It will be. Yes, hi. We're trying to find your store. Yes, my husband map quested you, but we've been up and down Palmer Street about five times and...oh West Palmer. Yes I see. The devil's in the details...yes thank you." She hung up and smirked at her clearly frustrated husband.

"Did-"

"I heard. Sorry I'm just a little distracted right now."

She placed a reassuring hand on his knee. "I know Babe. It's ok. Everything is going to be ok, and you'll look GREAT."

"Whew! I'm spent."

Sara plopped down on the couch and closed her eyes.

"Honey? Are you ok?"

From partially open eyelids Sara could just see him approaching her with concern etched on his scruffy face. He took his cowboy hat off and placed it next to hers before taking her hand in his own and rubbing it gently.

"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just that after the first 30 or so kids the novelty of handing out candy kind of wore off."

The doorbell rang and she smiled. "Still, there's nothing like giving joy to a kid." She struggled trying to stand and he pulled her up effortlessly. "Ready?"

They were greeted by some kids that they recognized, despite costume, from a few doors down.

"TRICK OR TREAT!" the kids shouted joyously in chorus.

"What have we here?" Grissom asked jokingly. "Hmm...Spiderman, a beautiful princess, and—who's that?" he asked pointing to their furry little companion.

Spiderman giggled. "Mr. Grissom, that's Archie!" The little dachshund wagged his tail from behind his Yoda costume and gave a little bark in acknowledgement.

"Ah, I see. You kids have fun, and stay out of trouble," he said as he placed a mini candy bar and magnifying glass in each child's sac.

He closed the door and turned to find Sara dozing on the couch. He flicked off the front light and thought I think we'll call it a night. He started to lift Sara off the couch and she stirred. "Gil don't hurt your back."

"I'm fine Baby," he reassured.

She tucked her head under his chin as he carried her to the bedroom and was silent as he removed her cowgirl outfit and replaced it with a nightgown. After sufficiently tucking her in he proceeded to remove his official Roy Rogers costume and slip into bed clad only in his boxers and a tee shirt.

When he turned to face her Sara opened her eyes and smiled at him. "Thank you."

He placed a hand on her protruding belly and returned her smile. "No, thank you. Just think, a year from now we'll be able to go trick or treating too."

She raised an eyebrow. "Gil, infants don't eat candy-nor do they need to be out on a chilly night-nor do they--" he cut her off with a kiss.

"I know Honey. I was only kidding."

"Yeah well you better watch it mister, if I get a craving you'll be going trick or treating TONIGHT!"

He snuggled up to her and pulled her close before whispering, "I already thought of that—which is why our garage is already stocked with any kind of candy you could possibly want. Knowing that you probably won't want all of that, I invited the guys over tomorrow for a post-Halloween party."

She giggled, "That sounds fun, but right now I just want to hold you tonight."
