Oh my Godric, I am on such a writing spree.
There was, if you asked Remus, nothing better than reading in a quiet library. To him, it was the only proof that the world hadn't gone entirely insane. The moment was perfect: candlelight creating soothing shadows, big leather chair supporting him perfectly, nothing but the sound of pages turning in-
"Psst. Moony."
Nevermind.
"Moony."
Sirius had the attention span of a hyperactive goldfish, so if Remus were to ignore him, he'd most likely fixate on another object (more often than not, something shiny).
"Moony."
Well, shit.
Remus sighed deeply and shut his book. "What have I told you about interrupting me when I'm reading, Sirius?"
"Um…don't?" Sirius said, sheepishly shoving his hands in his pockets.
"Precisely."
"But-but it's about reading!"
Moony looked up quickly in surprise.
"You…you read something?" Sirius nodded, his everyday smirk transforming into a self-satisfied smile.
And then Remus remembered precisely who it was that he was talking to.
"Sirius, I've told you once, and I'll tell you again: Wanton Witch Weekly is not, and should not ever be, considered reading."
Sirius' mouth quickly went back to its smirk. "You act like there are actually words in there to read."
"My point exactly. Speaking of reading, didn't you have something to tell me or show me?" Remus folded his hands together and rested his chin upon them. This ought to be good… He thought to himself.
"So I was in the restricted section of the library the other day, 'cause James told me it's called 'restricted' because they keep book porn back here, and I was trying to look for it, but then I got tired and decided to stop by the Quidditch section on the way out, and I did, and guess what I found?"
So many questions crossed Remus' mind: Book porn? What?...Since when has James ever stepped foot in this library, other than to stalk Lily?...Ohgodohgodohgod, why me?
"Umm…not book porn?" Remus guessed, praying that it was true.
"Better." Sirius said as he pulled a thick, gray book out of his (sadly mistreated) book bag.
Remus took the book from Sirius and examined the cover:
Quidditch: A Guide to Understanding Different Positions and Maneuvers with the Broomstick and Balls
He looked back up at Sirius, who was grinning like the idiot he so obviously was.
"Well, that's great, Sirius. I hope you have fun practicing your maneuvers and positions with your broomstick and balls. You know what? I bet James would be glad to help you."
And with that Remus collected his books and left Sirius standing there, whom of which was deeply regretting listening to James Potter (though definitely not for the first time in his life).
This idea started out as 30 words. It ended up being over 400. Damn.
