Yay, my first published Dino Charge fanfic! I've written a lot, mostly Chiley, but this is the first one I've been able to type up and publish. Please enjoy Movie Night Snuggles.
Movie Night Snuggles
They all had a Friday off.
That in and of itself was rare, but what made it downright astounding was that Sledge hadn't sent any monsters. Only one thing could make the day better: movie night.
Four of the five Rangers brought their comfiest pajamas and their favorite pillows and their softest blankets to the Dinolair. They also brought their favorite movies so they'd have something to watch for the whole night. They set their blankets –furs, for Koda –on the ground and set up the TV. Kendall watched from her lab space, trying to decide if she was annoyed by the spontaneous movie night or not. She decided not, as long as they were quiet.
"Which one should we watch first?" Shelby asked.
"Jurassic Park," Tyler suggested, a big grin on his face. Obviously that was the movie he had brought.
"No," Chase countered. "We have enough evil things to deal with. We don't need to see evil dinosaurs."
"True. Okay, what about . . . 13 Going on 30? Who brought the chick flick?"
Everyone looked over at Riley, who refused to meet their eyes. "Don't judge me; it was one of the only movies my mom let my brother and I watch while growing up."
"Okay . . . moving on," Shelby decided. "Ooh, we could watch The Conjuring!"
"Do we really want to start with a horror movie?" Tyler asked.
"We watch this one," Koda decided, pointing to a bright green case. Everyone else looked to read the title: The Land Before Time.
"Alright," Chase agreed. "It's a bit childish, but I'm game."
"Me too," Riley added, glad everyone was past his choice.
As everyone agreed, they put the DVD into the player and waited for the title menu to appear.
Three movies and six bags of popcorn later, the Rangers were getting sleepy. Shelby was already dozing on Tyler's shoulder, Koda passed out beside them. Chase and Riley were struggling to stay awake as well, though the way they snuggled together didn't help matters. Kendall looked over at the five Rangers and sighed. They'd left the TV on. As she crossed the Dinolair to turn it off, she happened to notice the time. It was much later than she'd thought; she would never make it back to her apartment building before the manager locked the doors.
With another sigh, she retrieved a spare pillow and blanket before settling down beside the Rangers. Before she knew it, Koda had reached out and pulled her into the cuddle pile. She was trapped under her arm, but she didn't try to escape. It would've been pointless to try.
Within minutes, all six of them were sound asleep, cuddled together. Riley's head rested on Chase's chest, Chase's arm was tangled with Tyler's, Tyler and Shelby were snuggled together, Shelby's legs were tangled with Koda's, and Koda's arm was draped over Kendall.
It was probably the soundest sleep any of them had ever had.
