"Good afternoon, sir!"

"Good afternoon, miss! Where should we go first?"

You smiled and giggled, looking at the man with glee. He had blonde hair, the brightest blue eyes with a childish twinkle, and a smile that could light up the room.

You hooked your arm into his, and began walking down the streets. "Over there, that's where Granny makes the best cakes," Alfred gloated, pointing to a house with all kinds of flowers surrounding it.

You smiled, wishing you could taste the homemade cakes, mouth watering, imagining all the various assortment of desserts. Cheesecakes, tuxedo cakes, black forest cakes, placed nicely on the counter, the sweet smell almost vivid. Alfred glanced your way, chuckling as he saw your expression. Blushing, you bashfully yelled at him in embarrassment.

Nearing a small lake, the two of you decided to sit and feed the ducks all the while watching the sun set. Colouring the sky orange, red, and hints of pink and purple. The usually clear blue lake mirroring the colours above. Chatting about random things: food, a tea party you were planning to have, and fond memories. A dark blue poured itself on the sky, casting away the colours the sun streaked across the sky. Almost like adding milk to coffee, the two liquids mixing together, and soon enough, a new colour would form.

The blonde abruptly stood, smiled, and held out a hand towards you. "Let's get going. The kingdom looks much prettier at night."

Humming along, Alfred continued telling his many adventurous tales. "The Queen sent me to defeat the wicked dragon, said I was the only one that could!" His eyes glimmered in glee, using his free hand to mimic him brandishing a sword and injuring the beast.

You laughed at his childishness, "were you scared?"

Alfred's eyes widened a bit, mouth quivering open and close. "O-of course not! Nothing can defeat the Hero!" Thus, he laughed his signature laugh.

"There was also that time where I was to fight on the front lines with the others…" He trailed off, a faraway look in his gaze.

You squeezed his hand, trying to come up with a different topic. "You were right."

Alfred stared bewildered at you, not understanding. Rolling your eyes, you motioned at the scenery in front of the both of you. The two of you stood in the plaza, where the paths sectioned off in four ways.

One leading to the shops, the more busy part of the kingdom. The other was the path you just took to get there, quiet, but beautiful and lively, for the grass was much greener, and the plants were better taken care of. Another leads into and out of town, merchants trying to sell valuables to foreigners, people sitting on horses with a wagon trailing behind them, ready to trade goods. The last trails into the castle. Where knights stationed there keep watch to protect the Queen.

In the centre, a fountain. The night made the water illuminate, especially with the night lights surrounding it. The fountain symbolizes the hope of the kingdom. In the morning, the kids would flounder around it and toss coins in exchange for wishes. The sound of rushing water resounded much louder in the dead of night. The occasional flutter of birds flying around, hopping from branch to branch.

Suddenly Alfred laughed, you in turn, cringed and almost screamed in fright. "What are you-"

"Yeah, it's beautiful, isn't it?"

Nodding shakily, you tugged on his and your clasped hand, and lead him to a bench adjacent to the fountain. A comfortable paused enveloped the both of you. Alfred ran his thumb over your hand, as you rested your head on his shoulder.

"So, what are we doing tomorrow?"
