Disclaimer: I don't own Rookie Blue.
Rated T, just because.
A/N: My first Traci :). I've been wanting to write her forever, but just couldn't make it work.
But finally, something I like; even if it's just another quickie.
Hope you enjoy!

Tracy Nash.Set after 'Honor Role'.
Going back to school today, she was struck with a little too much déjà vu for comfort.
Sure, the prep school Dov went to is nothing like she remembers her high school being like …
But the kids and the popularity structures don't change, even in a higher level social class.
She spent six months in high school hiding a pregnancy, trying to scrape by classes without flunking out; then two more years going through the motions, juggling a part-time job, homework, and a son. Those years of her life were certainly not the party years for her, nor the best years of her life. They were the worst, by far.
She loves Leo, with every bit of her heart and more. He's her everything, the one thing she cares about above all else; he always will be. But like any other teen mom, she can't help but wonder what her life would have been like if Dex hadn't knocked her up.
Maybe she would have fit in. Maybe she would have been popular.
But by that same token … maybe, she would have been like Samantha.
She thinks that, had the opportunity ever arisen for her – if the other girls had offered her a chance to be one of them instead of ostracizing her … she would have turned out just like Samantha. A mindless sheep; blindly following some prissy stuck-up cheerleader around; flowing with the accepted norms; going through four years of her life as nothing more than a clone.
Would she have become a cop, doing what she loves and helping people?
Or would she be sitting in some cubicle in some no-name company office, working a boring 9-5 day, going about life without a purpose. (She has her old 'classmates' on Facebook, she knows where they're at now; and it nothing much to be proud of.)
Would she have ever met Jerry, or fallen in love; would her son have the amazing male role model he does; would she be as happy and content in her life as she is now?
She doesn't think she would be.
But she is now.
She works her butt of raising a kid, trying to make the world a better place for him to grow up in. She's with an amazing, caring, honest, trustworthy man.
All because of one mistake made one night in 10th grade.
A mistake that she doesn't see as so much of a mistake anymore; a mistake that turned out to be a blessing in disguise, in so many more ways than one.
