"Wake up,"

"Hmmmfff"

"Wake up."

"Ermph"

"WAKE UP!"

"I'm up, I'm up!" I rolled out of bed and lazily wobbled into somewhat of a stand. I looked up at my older sister and snorted. "It's only 6 am."

"Yeah, Amy, I know," she said, turning sharply. Her black hair flew over her shoulder as she strutted out of the room. I rolled my violet eyes and went to the mirror.

"Ugly as always," I chimed, picking up my black plastic hairbrush. I lazily brushed my black hair, that was so black, it was almost blue. I pulled it back into a pony tail, that looked more like a tornado, and I marched to my dresser. I gripped the handle and sighed. I looked at my bed, then the floor and smiled.

"AMPHITRITE JAMES! What are you WEARING?" I stared down at my sweater and shrugged at the ketchup stains.

"A shirt"

"That's disgusting"

"Shut up"

"Both of you be quiet!" My mother snapped, marching over to my seat at the table. She dumped burnt sausage and sloppy pancakes on my plate.

"Seriously though, mom," my sister complained, "She looked like Cinderella before the bippity boppity boo."

I stuck my tongue out and picked at my sausage. "Yeah, well you look like my BUTT-"

"AMY!"

"Whatever," I sighed, stuffing a bit of pancake in my mouth. I chewed reluctantly.

"Tastes like cardboard."

"Maybe it is."

"You like cardboard."

"You look like cardboard."

My mother stomped her foot and marched out of the room. My sister, Destiny, looked at her plate. I threw a pancake at her.

"Why you little-"

I ran out of the door, laughing like crazy. My face was buried in my hands, and I doubled over in laughter. I continued to walk until I bumped into the wall.

Or what I thought was a wall.

"Hey Amy."

I looked up and backed away. It was my apartment neighbor, Percy Jackson.

"Sorry, I was just-"

"It's okay."

"No no, I just-Oh forget it. You gotta go somewhere anyway." I started to walk away, when he grabbed my shoulder. I turned, my face red. "You're not gonna kill me...are you? I've seen you're sword and I-"

"Wait, my sword?"

"Yeah. Wait, was I supposed to see it?"

He just sat there, looking at me stupidly. After a moment of awkward silence, he said something.

"Nope."
