Another short SasuHina one-shot. Hope you enjoy - kind of a prequel/sequel to Lies, the first one, except it's told from Sasuke's point of view about Hinata. Sad, I suppose. It's kind of like...Ya know, yeah. Anyways...Dedicated to SilverMoon-chan again.

Lies. How simple it was.
"Would you just shut up!?"
I'm sorry, Hinata.
"I've had enough of your damn cousin! I'll kill him!"
Believe me, I am.
"Would you fucking get over Naruto!?"
I never meant to hurt you, I really didn't. But it's too late now, isn't it? All of those words must have burned into you, and I'm still amazed that you stayed by my side for so long. I was so lucky to have had you, and then I just threw it all away.
How stupid can I get? When you cried, I scowled. When you told me your emotions, I scoffed. When you said those things to me, I could only say rude things back. Why did I hurt you like that? I loved you, and yet all I could do was wound you.
I remember, when you first walked up to me and admitted your feelings. You looked at me through beautiful eyes and said it loudly, with strength: "Sasuke Uchiha, I love you." When you said it, I knew, I just knew.
"Hinata Hyuuga, I love you too." My response to your bravery. It was exactly what you wanted — and then you started crying. I smiled softly, I took your hand and kissed it.
You were different. You were everything that I had always really wanted. I could see your smile every day. And I knew. I just knew that this was meant to be. And I started thinking about you, about only you, because no one else mattered anymore. You were the only person I still cared about in my life, the only thing that still seemed worth living for.
Then I was reminded about him. About my brother. The man who killed my entire clan, and then made my life a world of misery. So I left you — I left your beauty, I left you to do what you wanted.
And I never came back.
