"Kakashi cut it out. I'm trying to study," She turned over on her stomach and her kept her eyes glued to the page. Kakashi lay on his side, on hand under his head, and he watched her for awhile. Then he curled his arms around her waist and pulled her close. She protested, trying to squirm out of his grip with a smile on her face. He laughed as she grabbed her textbook and attempted to hit him in the head with it but of course, he just blocked the hit and threw the book on the floor beside the bed in Sakura's apartment.
"You know, I can find an alternative way for you to study human anatomy," His lips brushed her neck and then her lips as his grip tightened. Her heart sped up a bit and goose bumps began to form on her arms.
"No, not today. I have an exam tomorrow."
"Yeah I know, that's all you ever think about now," He settled his head on her shoulder and sighed.
"You know that I always think about you," She turned over so she faced him and her breath caught in her throat as she looked at the gorgeous face of her sensei. No matter how many times she sees that face, it still shocks her. He smiled, dazzling her and lowered his head to kiss her.
"I know," She held his cheek in one hand and held his face while she kissed him. His hand traced her spine along her back. She felt the warm feeling of his bare chest against her and it made her shudder. He pulled her on top of him and she lay on his chest as they caught their breath.
"How am I ever concentrate on my exam when this-," She ran her fingers on the hard planes of his chest and his abs, "is going to be on my mind," He chuckled and kissed her forehead.
"You'll find a way," He looked down into his favorite emerald eyes, and she stared back. She kissed the scar on his sharingan eye and he wrapped him arms around her, holding her close. Tucking her head beneath his chin, she started to doze off.
"Sakura,"
"Yes?"
"I love you,"
"I love you too," A few minutes of silence, Sakura opened her eyes and looked up at him. He was studying her face, concentrating very hard, but the look in his eyes was so tender and so affectionate, her heart melted inside of her chest.
"What are you thinking?" She absentmindedly began to twirl some strands of his hair in her fingers and waited for him to get his thought together. A few moments passed and she began to get nervous. She opened her mouth to speak but his hands gently settled across her mouth to silence her.
"Are you happy with me?"
"Yes,"
"Do you love me?"
"More than anything,"
"Do you care about what people say about us?"
"Not a chance,"
"Would you give your life for me?"
"Without hesitation,"
"You think that we'll last?"
"For a long time,"
"Will you marry me?" Her eyes opened wide as he pulled a small jewelry box from his pocket, opened it up, and revealed a small heart-shaped diamond, surrounded by smaller diamonds in the shape of another heart. Silver and beautiful it was. But marry him? Tears welled up in her eyes. Always, since the moment she realized she loved him more then she could ever love Sasuke, she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. A small vision made its way into her mind, and there she saw her and Kakashi, training two small silver haired children in the backyard. The image faded as his thumb wiped away a fallen tear.
"My heart is yours to keep. It has always been yours. But if you don't want to-," Sakura crushed her lips against his and mumbled in half a sob and half a laugh of joy,
"Yes, I will marry you," She kissed him until she felt a salty taste on her tongue. Bringing her hand to his face, she felt a wetness beneath his good eye. She stopped and lifted her head and rested her forehead against his.
"Why are you crying?" She's never seen Kakashi cry in her entire life.
"I'm crying because I get to keep you forever," The fluttering in her stomach grew stronger but her heart felt bigger, for now their two hearts shall be one.
