The car I was in came to an abrupt stop. My neck snapped back and met the car seat's head rest. The rest of my body jerked shortly after. The last thing I saw was an inflated airbag. The last thing I heard was the screeching of car tires. The last thing I smelt was the young smoke building up around me. The last thing I remember was my death.
But how am I still able to think with conscience and recall that night? Am I in the afterlife?
I did a reality check by attempting to take a deep breath. The scent of disinfectant chemicals burned the inside of my nose. Interesting, I'm alive.
My neck was aching and throbbed with pain. I forced my eyes open and found myself looking at a blank, white ceiling. All it took was a few blinks for my vision to adjust to the brightness of the room. I skimmed my surroundings and came to the conclusion that I was taken to a hospital after what I thought was death.
I heard a noise coming from behind me. Footsteps. Someone was approaching me. I sat up, ignoring the pain from before. A pair of icy blue eyes stared at me intently. He was Ren from STARISH, the group I compose music for.
"Milady, are you doing okay? It isn't kind to let others worry for you." Ren teased. Has he forgotten I have a dignity?
"Don't patronize me." I snapped at him. I quickly stood up and out of that uncomfortable bed. When I turned back to look at him, he looked like he'd seen a ghost.
"Haruka, are you sure you are doing okay?" He said, this time a little more serious and less flirtatious.
"I am perfectly fine." I assured him. "I don't need your concern." He was starting to irritate me.
Just then, the pain in my neck rapidly increased to an unbearable amount. My knees failed and I collapsed into a sea of darkness.
This is a short intro to the story I will be writing the next 2 months. Please let me know if you are interested to read more in the reviews.
