(My first story ever!, i plan to include several chapters i'll be working on throughout the week, towards the end of the stroy it might turn out very, very long)
The last Hedgehog
20 years since anyone has heard from the sonic gang, Eggman has conquered the world as we know it. A small brigade of rebels plan to somehow over throw the staggering strength of the Robotnik nation. Though everyone there is human there is somebody left, Shadow. Shadow walked out of his quarters in the Rebel Base down the hallway into the main communications room. Shadow reached his hand over to a round button, he pressed it and the window turned into a screen where the face of a man appeared "Yes shadow?" the man asked. "We have reason to believe that Robotnik's forces are coming onto our secret location". The man's face twitched for a moment "How can you be certain?" "Yesterday a large group of robotnik's probe droids landed within a 100 mile radius of our location, one came by within a half mile of us, one of our auto defense turrets shot it down". Shadow finished explaining the situation to the man as he listened with intrigue. "Well Shadow as your adviser I say we find a safe and hidden route to a new location" Shadow hesitated before responding "I agree, we must find a way to get away before Robotnik can completely launch an assault on our base". The adviser quickly responded "well Shadow theres actually been a location pre-determined by our commanding officers several years ago during the robo-wars" Shadow winced at the mentioning of the robo-wars, during the robo-wars, 20 years ago everyone in the sonic gang was killed off by Eggman's vast army which he formed from seemingly nothing. Several theories have comeup on how Eggman formed such an army, some of them include that since his first attack on the green hills he's been constructing this army. Another suggest's that he found a legendary factory underground called the drek tolent, meaning great forge in torkish a lost languge. The final and most plausible theory is that a few years before the attack eggman gained incredible political power and with it he slowly began his conquest becoming the leader of the UN, abusing his power he switched over most factories to develop his machines of war.
Shadow got up the next day and went down his usual corridor into the usual room with the usual screen. As he sat down in his seat and pressed the round button to talk with his advisor all he got was static, Shadow instinctively pressed the alarm, as it sounded several soldiers ran out one stepped in front of the rest, the commander. "Yes Shadow what's going on?" shadow pointed to the screen "communications are down, and I fear the worst" the commander of the garrison frowned "Shadow it could just be a simple communication error, what with all the interference from the robotnik airways and whatnot" Shadow looked unconvinced at this "No I'm sure that something is indeed wrong!" the commander stayed firm with his opinion "Shadow, sir, I'm just about certain it was just interference".
