Best Left Alone

"I see, I see. This alloy is a much better armor" noted a white-haired elderly man. The name tag pinned to his lab coat read 'Dr. Light'. He was in the process of finding a way to make Roll useful when his greatest creation violently pushed the door open. Megaman stalked towards Dr. Light, angry and scuffed up. "Dr Light, we need to talk!" Megaman hadn't been this angry since the time he almost ended Dr. Wily's evil plans for good. What could have made him so angry? Roll would have to remain ineffectual until Dr. Light found out what was going on.

"What is wrong, Megaman?" he asked. Light unconsciously stroked his ample white beard while Megaman explained his grievances. As he explained, Megaman started getting angry all over again. "I mean, it's just so inefficient! I get hurt a whole lot trying to get to robot masters for no good reason! Do you have any idea how embarrassing it is to get killed by Cutman because of that? CUTMAN, Dr! I've had enough!" Dr. Light nodded and turned to his computing system. "I understand, Megaman. I will upgrade your warping functions as soon as possible. Please give me an hour or so to make the necessary calculations." Megaman huffed and left the room for his recharge station. As the door leading away from the laboratory, the old professor let go of the laugh that he had been holding in. Seriously, killed by Cutman? How could anyone not mock him? Even Roll wouldn't let that happen.

Precisely one hour and twenty-seven minutes later, Megaman was outfitted with a new warp component. Megaman seemed to be pleased enough with the upgrade. "Hey, can we do a field test now?" he asked. Dr. Light agreed and fired up the computer, commanding it to find an area without humans around. They locked onto a mountainous region far from anyone that could get hurt. "Perfect". Dr Light relayed coordinates to Megaman and sent him on his way. Megaman had the entire area mapped out in his head. He was supposed to land on a peak with an extraordinary view of the snowcapped mountains. He landed pretty close to his target... does landing right on the side of the cliff count? No? Oops.

Instead of landing on the peak, Megaman warped onto the steep incline leading into the crags. He rolled, bounced, and tumbled down the rough wall of earth, scraping up his blue armor and his face. His humiliating tumble ended when he landed on a large, extremely sharp rock and exploded into big azure rings. The energy that poured out after Megaman exploded reformed over Dr. Light's lab. He fell through the roof and face-planted into the middle of the floor. Roll giggled like the little brat that she is, earning a mean look from her brother.

"I take it that the warp component requires adjustment, correct? I promise that it will work properly next time. I know, how about we send you to the area that Quickman resided in?" Megaman rolled onto his back and remembered all of the explosions that happened because of those blasted laser beams. His last words before losing consciousness:

"Can I just get the old part back? I'm better off with the other ro... robots..."
