True love for Potter?

-I-

Harry knew that it was unnatural, but since Ginny had gotten over him so quick, he'd given up entirely on girls. He picked at the frayed edges of his robes and glanced over at the giant figure seated at the large table at the front. He pulled his glasses off and wiped them with his sleeve, as they were getting misty for some reason.

He glanced over at Ron Weasley; one of his best friends and groaned inwardly at the thought of telling him. Had he noticed? As he watched Ron making out publicly with his on and off girlfriend Lavender Brown, he seriously didn't think so and was glad of it.

His gaze then switched over to Hermione Granger whose eyes were furrowed at the latest report regarding her one-man foundation: Spew (Society for the Promotion of Elfish Welfare). She was clever; he gulped, had she noticed?

Nu-uh was the reply that his conscience rewarded him with. He let out a contented sigh and leant back on his chair, emerald green eyes staring at the fake sky that adorned the ceiling.

He slowly glanced over at the teachers, and, his eyes rested on Hagrid again, who noticed Harry's glance and waved at him cheerily.

Oh, damn, glasses getting foggy again. He smiled sheepishly at Hagrid and pulled the round-rimmed glasses off to wipe.

"Hey, Harry?"

Ron had finished his snogging contest.

"Yeah?" he asked, nervously.

This is it, damn. Damn.

"You coming quidditch today?" he asked, oblivious to the profusely sweating Harry.

"Oh…" Harry sighed. "No, sorry. Have to go to Hagrid's again."

For extra measures he pulled a face.

"What?" Ron exclaimed. "That bloody oaf needs talking to. You've missed quidditch twice in a week!"

Harry coughed.

"No, leave it, he's really upset-"

Hagrid let out a roar of laughter that was heard over the thousands of students.

"Upset?" Ron asked.

Harry blinked ultra fast and turned his face slightly away from his best friend.

"He's making a show in front of everyone," Harry said, empathically. "I mean, I guess he just doesn't want everyone to know…"

Shit Potter… you're making a deep hole for yourself.

Hermione looked up at this statement; worried.

"I don't think that Hagrid is the only one upset about something Harry," she stated, folding the parchment and placing it neatly onto the table. "Ever since Ginny-" here she shot a fleeting glance over to Ron "- started to date Seamus, you've begin to get really absent-minded and-"

Harry stood up, his chair toppling behind him to due to the sudden movement.

"I'm fine!" he retorted. "Leave me and my feelings alone!"

"-Like that…" Ron and Hermione chimed together as Harry stormed out of the Great Hall, tripping over a leg of the Gryffindor table.
