CSI From The Mind

She is all set with her box of tissues, soda, and the TV remote all to herself. Being stuck at home seems to be turning out okay for her after all. She sits in her favorite rocking chair, and turns on the television. Turning to channel 76 Spike, she settles down to watch TV's Top Drama and Most Watched Show, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Alternative Beginning:

Some people are known as morning people, making the people who aren't morning people night people, or afternoon people if you wish. The CSI's of the graveyard shift at the LVPD crime lab are known as night people. They are people who can stay up late into the night, solving cases and crimes that would be ruled unsolvable by others. It definitely pays to be part of the second best crime lab in the country.

Catherine, Warrick, Nick, and Sara are all waiting in their supervisor, Gil Grissom's, office for their assignments. Grissom comes in, and hands Catherine a slip of paper, telling her to take Nick and Warrick to the 419 that is on Imperial Boulevard. Nodding her blond head, Catherine and her two other coworkers exit the office. Sara Sidle is the only one left in the office, other than Grissom. Asking her supervisor where her location will be that evening, she smiles her white smile. Smiling in return, Gilbert Grissom tells her that she will be with him, investigating the apparent suicide that has taken place at Western LVU. Satisfied, CSI 2 Sidle grabs her kit from the floor and follows him out of the strange office.

At their different crime scenes, the graveyard CSI shift goes to work just as the time changes to 7:00 PM. Processing each scene takes some time. Dusting for fingerprints, bagging evidence, and swabbing for blood are all part of the fun. The evidence, blood swabs, and crime scene photos are all taken back to the lab to be processed and examined by the CSI's and the lab techs. Murder, homicides, and suicides are all part of a normal work night for CSI.
