Coffee
It was a peaceful late afternoon in Malfoy Manor. The sun streaming into the library Lucius was currently hiding in and Narcissa busying herself somewhere else, anywhere else. Of course, she was in the Manor. It wasn't like she could leave, or he for that matter. Not with him here. He wasn't going anywhere. House arrest with He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (although would that matter? If Lucius just screamed his name, it's not like he doesn't already where know Lucius is. They live together for Merlin's sake!) was about as much fun as being force fed one of Hagrid's baked good. Yeah, that bad. If Lucius knew this is what he was signing up for, maybe he would have reconsidered.
From the aforementioned drawing room came a voice, "LUCIUS!"
Lucius put down the book he had been pretending to read and left the library. On the short walk down the hall Lucius heard his name called repeatedly. He couldn't help buy roll his eyes.
"Yes, my Lord?" Lucius asked walking into the drawing room and finding him sitting at the head of the long table with Nagini sleeping at his feet.
"Lucius! My coffee! I need my coffee," Voldemort said looking to Lucius.
"Your coffee, my lord?" Lucius said thinking of the time and remember the last time he drank coffee this late in the day, "At this hour? Might I suggest herbal tea? We have some of the fine-"
Lucius was cut off, "I NEED MY COFFEE! I need it to kill the boy!"
"Certainly," Lucius tried to hide his sigh, "Certainly, my lord. I'll bring you your coffee."
With that he departed the room and walked his way, slowly, to the kitchen. He couldn't give him caffeinated coffee. Narcissa would kill him, but he couldn't just forget or bring him something else. It was in the midst of these thoughts that Lucius found Narcissa in the kitchen sipping tea. Lately, Narcissa had been spending more time in the kitchen as it was one of the few rooms he didn't venture into (apparently he couldn't cook, at all.)
"He is demanding coffee," Lucius said going to retrieve the daintily, flowery, blue china mug saved especially for occasions such as this.
Narcissa snatched the mug from Lucius, "Not at this hour. I will not deal with that again, Lucius!"
Lucius nodded understandingly and watched as his wife dug out something from the very back of a low cupboard under the counter. She came back with a tin and started making the coffee. In moment she had it ready and was handing the mug back to Lucius, "Its decaf."
"He'll know," said Lucius.
Narcissa, too fed up with her husband, strode pasted him and up to the drawing room where she presented him with the mug. He took it, sipped it, and let out a small sigh. Narcissa backed out with a nod of the head knowing that she had just tricked He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Maybe this skill will come in handy someday.
