"What did you do Clarke?' She stands seemingly frozen as her mother's words flow in from the doorway. 'Look at me!" Abby shouts and suddenly the fear only a parent can create within their offspring floods over Clarke and she turns.

"What I had to." It was almost becoming a mantra the last few hours. Perhaps even months if Clarke dared to really examine the truth.

"That's bullshit." Abby snaps stepping into the newly created chancellor's office. A position seemingly her daughter had elected for herself.

"It's about survival mom. Our survival. Of our people. Its what we worked for 97 years! What dad gave his life for!"

"Your dad didn't give his life to allow you or anyone the opportunity to murder thousands of people! Don't you dare give me that look!"

"Mom, we all can't survive."

"So we become Gods and decide whose lives are worth saving?"

"You did it on the council all the time. What's the difference?"

"A fucking huge one! Clarke don't you remember Mount Weather?"

"Of course. But it's not like that!" Abby holds in a laugh but still ends up cracking a sarcastic smile.

"It's exactly the same."

"Mom I want. I need us to live. Don't you understand that?"

"Of course. This wasn't the deal we made those people! And what if Octavia wins?" Clarke sighs.

"Do you really think the other clans would allow us to walk in here peacefully and with smiles? No they won't! The conclave and this battle is a damn joke."

"You have to give them a chance!"

"There isn't time mom! I'm sorry but this has to be done. Deep down you know that."

"Is our survival worth this?"

"It will be. We'll flourish. Take back the earth as we intended."

"By killing thousands.' Abby sighs before continuing. 'Including Marcus and Bellamy and Octavia. Our people."

"Mom we are trying to come up with a plan to get all three of them in here. Don't worry we haven't given up on them!" Clarke forces a smile.

"We both know we shouldn't count on that. In every war there our innocent casualties. Right?' Abby says bitterly. All Clarke can do is nod. 'I hope when this over you can forgive yourself. Because I'm not sure if I can." She turns curtly towards the door and leaves the room.
