Rukia's POV
As we walked beside each other, on our way back to Ichigo's house, my soul pager started beeping. I grabbed Ichigo's shoulder and turned him around. "Ichigo! There's a hollow just south of here."
"Crap! Why now?" Ichigo exclaimed with an annoyed look on his face. "Why do all these firkin hollows pop up all the time now?" He grabbed his substitute soul reaper badge and jumped out of his body.
I followed Ichigo to where the hollow was. The hollow stood above us at what looked to be 20 feet. He looked harmless and not a problem for Ichigo. Ichigo grabbed his sword a sliced the hollow in two. I just stood against the wall a bored look.
Ichigo walked up to me a smiled the same groovy smiled that inside, I always loved to see. I turned around to start walking back to Ichigo's body when I heard him scream behind me. A terrible scream that would make anyone shiver. I turned around to face Ichigo when I noticed he was lying on the ground shaking. I ran up to him. "ICHIGO! WAKE UP! ICHIGO!" I started to shake him.
He only said to words in a whisper. "He's back." I screamed in agony because I knew what he meant. His inner hollow was here. His inner hollow was never going to give up until Ichigo defeated him or failed and disappeared forever. I screamed again for I knew this time, Ichigo would have to fight himself for control over his body.
I watched in agony as he tossed around on the ground. I backed up from him anc bumped into the wall. I crotched down a cried.
Ichigo's POV
I looked around me. I knew exactly where I was. A dark chuckle rang out behind me. "Hey partner. Time to battle." He brought out his sword. I brought up mine. He only laughed. I kept a stern look on my face.
We ran at each other. We clashed in the middle. He swung at me. I dodged it. "You missed!" I got distracted with pride. He cut into my arm. I feel to the side of the building. I got up and gathered up my spiritual pressure. He did the same. We ran at each to other. He flew in for an attack on my head when I ducked and stabbed him right in the heart. "You're…FINISHED." I took my sword out of his body and watched him disappear.
I found myself lying on the ground with small sobs coming from behind me. It was Rukia. I got up and walked over to her. "Rukia, are you okay?" I asked her.
She coughed up a sob. "No! I thought you were going to die. I was so scared." She laid on the ground and curled up into a ball. The rain had started as the sky darkened. I looked down at Rukia and felt so much emotion surface. I had realized something at that moment. I loved Rukia.
I pulled her up a hugged her hard. "It's okay. I'm not died. I'm right here. Just like I will always be." I hugged her again. She soon pulled back and looked into my eyes. I looked down at her and watched her. I soon couldn't help myself. I leaned down to her and our lips met. A deep, intense, passionate kiss.
She pulled away after a minute. She stared at me and said "I love you, Ichigo Kurosaki."
I smiled at her. "And I love you, Rukia Kuchiki." I then leaned in for more of her. I was happy for once.
