-1 This was inspired after I saw the purple heart cut scene on Harvest Moon Cute!! I always thought Kai was really neat so I decided to write this. Plus he is like one of the few good choices on cute unless you hook up the GBA game which I lost a long time ago! Anyway, I hope you like it, this takes place after Kai explained he was leaving the valley soon. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE Review, I will love you forever!! Enjoy!!

… My Favorite Season is Summer

"My favorite season is summer!" Abigail blurted out as she watched the boy come to a halt. Running to his side, her blue eyes met his dark chestnut ones that were filled with confusion.

"What are you talking about Abby?" He asked with an eyebrow raised. She felt her cheeks burn when he called her that, reminding her of the day they first met. He had treated her like they had been long lost friends who finally saw each other again. He went on and explained how Abigail was just too long, easy for someone with a short name like Kai to say.

"Remember how you asked me my favorite season that first day?" She questioned as she moved her gaze to the ground. Hesitating at first, he shook his head.

"Yeah… You said you liked fall because the colors were fantastic and the weather was always perfect. Oh and you like it because spinach grows the best then. " He answered, the confused look still on his face, "But you've decided to change that…" Abigail nodded her head, long blonde hair falling into her face as she stared at the ground.

"Well I don't want to have to wait for summer again, it will hurt too much." She mumbled, trying to hold back the tears that were wanting to pour out. Kai lifted up her chin, staring into her crystal eyes.

"Abby… what are you saying?" He asked, his brown eyes were shining in the moonlight. Abigail tried to pull away from his gaze, but she couldn't stop looking at his perfect tan face.

"I like summer because it promises me you will be here, I don't think I can bear waiting for that to come again…" She answered with watery eyes. The confused expression faded on Kai's face and was replaced with a smile. He began to laugh as Abigail's eyes returned to the safety of the ground, her face scarlet.

"Abby, that's no reason to change your feelings toward fall. I still like you even though we don't share love for the same season." Tears started to pour down her face, not sure how to react to his answer. Kai bit his lip as he grabbed her small hand into his.

"Abby…well…. My favorite season is fall!" he exclaimed as he lifted her tear soaked face with his free hand. Now it was Abigail's turn to look confused.

"Why do you say that?" She asked with a frown. Was he just toying with her? Kai flashed his beautiful smile as he wiped the tears from her eyes.

"Because I….Well it isn't fair that I had you with me to enjoy my favorite season and then leave on yours." He replied, pulling her into his arms. She blushed as her anger was washed away by his warmth.

"I love you Kai." Abigail whispered from their tight embrace. Kai smiled, looking down at her beautiful pale face. Lifting her chin slightly, he kissed her for what felt like forever to Abigail. It was perfect as she wrapped her hands around his neck. He finally pulled away, his eyes shining brightly.

"I love you too Abby." He responded as he brushed her blond bangs out of her face. Abigail clung to him as they both made their way back to her house, her cheeks remaining scarlet.

"So your favorite season is summer huh?"
