I've seen good men die.

Mages and Templars and soldiers and innocent people alike. And it pains me to see this happening, all over Thedas. But I can't change it.

Or can I?

One person alone against the rising tide of blood could do so many things. Split it down the middle. Cause one side to swell higher than the other. Be washed away. But to push it down and away, and hide it in the sea, where everyone knows it's there and everyone wants to bring it back to light? I couldn't. I wouldn't.

This needs to be dealt with. Mages and Templars have to learn to play nice. And one cannot serve under the other. They must coexist, not one be a slave and the other the master. If there is one thing that must be done in the civil war that everyone knows is imminent, it would be to establish the Chantry as a neutral fixture. After what Anders the mage did to the Kirkwall Chantry, everyone of Andrastean faith is clamoring for magical blood. The blame falls squarely on the shoulders of Anders, but is shared by all mages in the eyes of the Andrasteans. Therefore, those who follow the Chantry would side with the Templars. It doesn't help that they are "servants of the Chantry" to begin with.

For the Templars to have that much support would eradicate the mages.

And that cannot happen. The mages cannot all be purged. The Templars cannot all be exiled. What people are doing in this is blaming the entity for the actions of a part. Few mages actually turn to blood magic, and only then because of what they deem is necessity. Not all Templars are bloodthirsty rapists with a lyrium addiction. It is a few bad apples that ruin the bunch. Those on either side see only the surface of the other. It is as if they're looking through a window fogged up by their breath from being forced to be too damn close to each other. Maker knows what they're thinking.

What the people of Thedas need right now is balance. Order. Justice. Not Vengeance.

We need a way to be who we are, and not be afraid, or judged, or prejudiced.

I've seen good men die.

I don't want to see it happen anymore.
