"You look nice tonight."
"You know, we're supposed to kiss someone when it's midnight?" the blonde girl says, getting straight to the point.
Her lips are coated in pink lip gloss.
"I know that. Are you implying that we should - "
"You know, I think I'm going to kiss Mustardseed," the girl says airily, touching a white silk glove to her chin as if contemplating her kiss.
He scowls. "Your sister's got an eye out for him."
She laughs. "Of course. It's so obvious, you know. She's going to get him tonight."
"She gets every boy she wants," the boy laughs. "It's getting ridiculous now." He runs a hand through his curly blonde hair.
"Well fairyboy? Are you getting my point?" the girl asks, raising an eyebrow.
"I'm not stupid, you know," the boy snaps. "You want a kiss. From me."
"Took you long enough," she says sarcastically and she smiles slightly, causing her dimple of appear.
"I knew you've wanted to kiss me since our first kiss," the boy smirks. He brings an air of confidence.
The girl wrinkles her nose but laughs. " I never knew you were so eager."
He stops right in her face and she can feel his breath on her and smell the peppermint on his breath. When he grabs her arm, she realizes how hard she's trembling.
"You're scared," he says softly and the peppermint is sweet on her face.
"I am not," she says.
"Than kiss me."
And she does.
The fireworks explode as they kiss.
