Getting Ben was not a difficult task. Charmcaster saw him at a Mr. Smoothy's - no shock factor there, right? - and approached him with a winning smile. She flirted with him unashamedly. She complimented his green eyes, his leather jacket, and of course, his Omnitrix.
"Ben, your Omnitrix is so amazing. The fact that you wear it and you have all this power is just so smoking," she whispered in his ear.
"Uh...thanks..."
At first, he was very confused and apprehensive, taking slow sips from his smoothie and never wavering his gaze from her. She knew that he was trying to figure out what she was doing. Charmcaster thought that was just precious. She knew he needed a little push and she was not one to give up easy. It was after she said that she absolutely adored Mr. Smoothy's that he gave in and started flirting back.
"I guess heroes just have a thing for bad girls and they can't fight it no matter how hard they try. Badness is just so addicting," Charmcaster muses. She finds this idea wholly amusing.
She is very proud of herself for deciding to use Ben to complete her mission to annoy Gwen. He has a lot of pluses. He is a famous hero. He receives many perks and being his girlfriend, he receives spillover perks. He is also a good kisser, which is always something one looks for in a guy. He is younger than she is, which completely intrigues her. He is not as serious as Kevin and he is way cuter. He is not the brightest, though, but that does not concern her one bit.
'Brains make you super boring and snobby' is Charmcaster's policy. 'Example: Gwen.'
A humongous plus: HE IS NOT LIKE HIS BLAH COUSIN AT ALL! This thought warms Charmcaster to the core. Ben is like a little puppy - a bit naive, but always adorable. The one thing that really irks Charmcaster is how often they hang out at Mr. Smoothy's, but she cannot really complain because she pretended to like the place.
'Oh, the things we do for men.'
At that moment, Gwen and Kevin approach the establishment. Gwen spots Ben and dashes to him, not realizing Charmcaster is with her cousin. Kevin trails after his girlfriend.
When Gwen sees Charmcaster, her expression turns sour as if she just ate five lemons. When she notices her cousin and the sorceress holding hands, she looks like she ate twenty lemons.
"Ben?" she says in a strangled voice, while Kevin catches up to his lady and catches onto the situation. His eyes bulge and he becomes quite pale.
Ben looks up at his cousin. "Mmm?" He asks while sipping his smoothie.
"What is this?" She continues in the strangled voice and gestures to the hand holding.
Charmcaster laughs. "Apparently, Gwen, books can't teach you everything," she smirks, replying in a mocking tone. "Isn't it obvious? Ben and I are dating."
Gwen inhales sharply while Kevin lets out a squeak. "Ben, are you aware that Charmcaster is our enemy?"
Ben nods. "Yeah, I know, Gwen, but she's hot." Charmcaster beams. Kevin nods, but Gwen does not notice. She is busy trying to convince Ben to give up this sorceress so she continues, "Are you aware that she is also only dating you to get back at me?!"
Ben looks at Charmcaster. "Is this true?"
Charmcaster makes a face that gives away the answer. Ben looks like he is going to throw the smoothie at her. Instead, to her surprise - and everyone else's - he shrugs. "Okay."
