One day a young CHP officer Frank Poncherello (Ponch) Came into the briefing room only to hear everyone laughing and saying "Ponch has to meet LT. Boozer." And then Ponch out of curiosity asked
"Who is Lt. Boozer?" Everyone laughed at the young CHP officer and then his friend Grossie said.
"You don't know LT. Boozer?" and then he chuckled and said
"He is only the most well known Lieutenant in all of California." And then Ponch asked
"Then how come I don't know him?" Grossie smiled and said
"Oh yeah I forgot he only terrorizes, I mean meets the officers after 3 years on the job." Then Sgt. Getraer walked in and started briefing.
After briefing…
"Sarge, how come you never told me about LT. Boozer?" Ponch asked Getraer looked confused then he answered,
"Frank I don't know what you're talking about but I have better things to deal with then you're stupid games, so get out there on your beat," Ponch was upset, but he left anyway. All throughout the day all he could think about was LT. Boozer.
"Guys how come Getraer doesn't know who LT. Boozer is?" Ponch asked.
"Oh he does, he was just messin' with ya," Grossie said.
"No guys let's tell him the truth," said Jon Baker, Ponch's best friend and partner.
"Ponch, there is no LT. Boozer he was just made up."
"Really?" Ponch asked relieved.
"Yep, it was all just a joke."
Meanwhile the next day….
Getraer came in and started briefing.
"Guy's I'd like you to meet our new Lieutenant, LT. Boozer," he said. Everyone tried to hold back laughter, as LT. Boozer walked into the room and introduced himself. As soon as briefing was over everyone left the building laughing. Getraer walked up to Ponch.
"Poncherello, I don't know how you knew, but LT. Boozer really was a real person," Getraer said. Ponch just smiled at Getraer then walked away to get to work.
