Tim McGee sighed as he watched Abby type away at her computer. Thanks to what he thought was helpful advice earlier, he had been banished to a rolling chair in the corner of the lab. She was so pretty, and smart and kind, he thought as he watched her type away. He remembered first meeting her and thinking, 'now that's a woman.' Then had come the casual office flirtations, eventually evolving into a full-fledged romance. McGee had thought that he was in love. Perhaps Abby had too. But she must have known that it would never work out. Of course it hadn't. Like Gibbs always said, Rule 13: relationships between agents NEVER work. Watching her, McGee sighed. She was pretty, smart, funny, kind. Way out of his league.

" McGee, can you help me crack this code?" Abby asked, turning to him with a look of guilt. " Sorry I made you go sit in the corner. Just…I hate it when people breathe down my neck. Reminds me of this weird teacher I had in fifth grade…"

" Sure, Abby." McGee stood, sending the chair rolling backwards.

" Thanks! I just need to get past the firewall into Libson's computer, and then we can see what he was really hiding." Abby grinned as she turned back to the keyboard. McGee smiled. Things were looking up.
