ComeAroundAgain
She had grasped his robe sleeve in desperation as he ran past her. It was the night of Dumbledore's death, he had to flee. She pulled him towards her, a fearful expression on her face as she pressed her lips to his cheek. He swore he'd be back for her, that he'd be back soon and they would finally be together. He pressed his lips to her cheek, withdrew from her grasp, and ran.
Not even a few hours later, Harry had come to her and kissed her cheek as he held her as she cried. It felt so wrong, as always. That was Draco's cheek to kiss; she was Draco's to hold. He thought she was crying for Dumbledore and Bill; she was crying for Draco. Days later, when Harry broke up with her, she had to hide her smile; she was finally free to be Draco's.
Every day that summer, she woke up and walked to the window before anything else. Never did an owl appear, though. Her stomach twisted every time, and tears had to be held back as she tried to accept the fact that Draco was never going to write her. She would never see him again. They were on opposite sides, and they would never be together.
When the wedding was attacked, she nearly shouted his name. Was he actually there, at her home? Her mother had grabbed her arm and apparated her away before she had a chance to.
She had boarded the train nervously. For the first time, she would be the only Weasley at Hogwarts. He would be there though; wouldn't he? Finally, she would see him. Finally, they would be together.
She passed a compartment with open doors. She glanced inside as she passed, and felt her heart sink as she saw a familiar head of blonde hair. His arms were around Pansy Parkinson and they were connected at the lips. His hand snaked under his fellow Slytherin's shirt, oblivious to the younger girl standing at the compartment entrance. Ginny ran when the tears began to fall.
He had promised that he would come for her, but he never did.
