This is the shortest piece I have ever written but I feel I was able to convey all that I wanted to. please read and review
Choices
"I love you Hermione"
She couldn't believe her ears. She never thought that he would say that to her. The look in his eyes told her that he was serious. In fact she had never seen him look so serious. She searched his eye's looking for this to be some kind of a joke. Hoping that this didn't mean what she knew it meant. He really did love her and it had taken every ounce of courage he had to confess that to her. Not finding what she wanted in his eye's she then looked inside of herself. Did she love him? Could she? The answer was simple and heart breaking. No. She had feelings for him, but only as a friend. There had been affection since their first year and she loved him like a brother, but only as a brother. The simple truth was that Hermione Granger had given he love to another. The boy he called his best friend. Even if he were to never return her feelings she knew that they would always be with her. The feelings that sparked inside of her whenever she thought of him were enough to show her that she didn't love the boy standing in front of her. She hated to have to hurt him but there was no other way.
"I'm sorry but I don't love you, I'm in love with some one else. I think you know who it is"
He was crest fallen but his eyes held understanding. She knew that he wouldn't stand in her way, and that what he wanted most was for her to be happy. This made her think twice about what she was rejecting. He loved her and she was choosing an uncertainty. Her feelings wavered for a moment, but she knew that she wouldn't be happy if she settled, even if it was with him.
"Sorry Harry, I'm in love with Ron"
Harry Potter walked away defeated and heart broken.
A/N The puropse of this story is that to me it seemed like if given the choice Hermione would choose Harry over Ron and the only reason she ended up with Ron was that he was what was left. so I wrote this just to have her tell me that I was wrong.
