"What a merry gathering this is," Klaus says to announce his arrival. How convenient, all the people he needs to kill gathered neatly in one room. Elena, Jeremy, Tyler, Bonnie, Damon, Matt. Caroline and Stefan are here too, he hasn't decided about them yet. And Rebekah's here as well. He'd like to be able to consider her an ally in this but he won't count on it. His arrival takes them by surprise, how fucking stupid are they? As if he wasn't going to come for them. He uses their surprise as an opportunity to seize Elena and bite her. He holds onto her, a stake poised at her chest. The best way to control this situation is to control Elena; they'd all do anything to keep her alive.

"I wouldn't try anything if I were you," Klaus tells Damon whose risen from his seat and looks like he's about to do something stupid. Klaus sinks the stake in just enough to make Elena bleed and get the point across that he's not fucking around. Damon halts. But Tyler isn't that smart, he attacks. Klaus drives the stake through Elena's heart and tosses her aside in time to rip Tyler's heart from his chest. Next comes Caroline, whose neck he snaps, and Damon. Damon manages to land a stake in his back but Damon's aim is off and Klaus turns on him, wielding the sword. He brought it knowing it would come in handy and he slices Damon's head clean off. Suddenly Klaus is seized by a searing pain in his head and he looks across the room to see Bonnie staring at him with determination. He tries to move through the pain but its crippling and then it just stops. Bonnie slumps to the ground in front of Rebekah, who thankfully had the presence of mind to snap Bonnie's neck. Klaus gets up, surveying the room. By his count he still needs to kill Jeremy, Matt and maybe Stefan. Stefan's lying on the ground unconscious or dead already, which leaves Matt and Jeremy. It's not very sporting to kill Matt in this fashion, he is only human after all, but as a co-conspirator he has to die. Klaus lops his head off too and takes pleasure in the fact that Jeremy had to witness it. Maybe it will give him a small amount of understanding into what Klaus felt as he watched Kol die.

"Oh Jeremy, if only you'd realised..." are Klaus' finally words for a terrified Jeremy before he rips the beating heart from Jeremy's chest.

"Well done Nick," Rebekah says, pulling the stake from his back, "even Kol couldn't have done it better." Klaus gives her a smile that doesn't reach his eyes.

"He'd have liked this, wouldn't he?" Klaus says, taking in the broken bodies strewn about the room and the numerous blood splatters and pools; pure carnage. But this doesn't feel as good as it should for the simple reason that no matter what he does, Kol will still be dead.
